Re: What was the last movie you watched?
Children of the Corn.

UGH Isaac had such an annoying voice
Creepy movie. I love movies based off of Stephen King's stories.

Louder than a Bomb
this film was really well made and inspiring! I really recommend it.
The Mighty (1998)
We read the book in English class and then we watched the movie the following week. It was an awesome movie. (The ending made me cry) I'd say it was one of my favorites.
Harry Dean Stanton's acting was breathtaking.
Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas (live-action) 2000
It's not my cup of soda... ![]()
Snowmen (2010)
Kinda sad, but overall it was great. It probably took Doug E. Doug and Bobb'e J. Thompson a long time to garner a Jamaican accent.
Charlie Chaplin's City Lights (1931)
The first silent film I've watched. Pretty good. ![]()

Die Hard: A true Christmas classic.
Hugo
Watch it. That's all I'm gonna say. Just kidding. It was sophisticated, inspiring, and awesome.
The Adventures of Tintin
I watched it one week ago...

New Years Eve
Urgh... that was... urgh...
Also, unrelated movie question: Does one need to see Star Trek: The Motion Picture before seeing Wrath of Khan?

Not really much. Most relevant stuff can be easily guessed, and generally the odd numbered Star Treks are not as good.
Cool, I've heard the first one is pretty bad, or at least really slow (The Motionless Picture?). I'll put that one on my list...
In the mean time,
Bad Lieutenant (1992)
Holy !@#$. Amazing film. Harvey Keitel's performance was just... wow. Loved it.
Superior to Port of Call, though that one's definatley more enjoyable. They're hard to compare though, as they're pretty different, (I know it's not a remake/sequel/whatever, just comparing for the sake of comparing).
The Secret of Kells
this film is A WORK OF ART. Please go watch it right now! ![]()
The Adventures of Tintin
It was awesome! The animation was the most realistic I have ever seen. Plus it was directed by Steven Spielberg!
4.9/5

The Adventures of Tintin (also known as The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn) is a 2011 American performance capture 3D film based on The Adventures of Tintin, a series of comic books created by Belgian artist Hergé (Georges Remi).
performance capture
Performance capture ≠ Animation

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (David Fincher)
Great performances, cinematography, and score. Sent chills down my everything, and I find it much better than the Swedish adaptation.

I was talking about animation. Y'know, the appearance of the characters and scenes?

The appearance of the characters are different then the animation (or in this case, performance capture). The appearance has to do with the character's modeling, materials and rendering, while animation deals with the character's movements and actions.
So in all, Appearance ≠ Animation.
I'd like to point out that even in a film created with motion capture technology, there is a significant portion of the animation that still has to be completed through traditional means. Even more so if the film is heavy on action. We can't totally dismiss the animation as a factor in the film.
