Topic: Best Webcam That Will Meet My Standards

I want to use nothing but my Mac when it comes to Stopmotion.  I don't like monkeyjam because of it's poor resolution options and exporting is really difficult.  So I have been saving money for a Webcam that will 1.) Work in iStopmotion 2.) has Manual options 3.) Is HD.

Now I have looked at the Agent V5 Webcam but does it work very well for stopmotion?  I don't know!

What is your budget?

Not entirely sure, since I don't own a mac. I'd think it would run in a stop motion animator (istopmotion), it is a webcam.... I think your best bet would be the C910.

Re: Best Webcam That Will Meet My Standards

Does the C910 have manual?  I'm really sketchy on that still.

If by manual controls you mean: taking pictures within iStopMotion and tilt-shift controls, then yes. But you can't focus the C910 from within the frame capture program. I film with the C910 and use iStopMotion 2, and I use a trick to focus manually.

I'm working on getting my studio back up and running, so stay posted...

And what exactly would that be?

If the camera is out of focus on the minifig or whatever else your filming, put your hand in front of the camera until it focuses on your hand, to focus it back on the object. This also reduces the chance of light flicker to some degree.

I use the C910 with iStopmotion and I am unable to do anything.  I can't even take a picture without it being blurry. mini/confused

Minifiguresinmotion, he actually said what his trick was.  And you use the edit button to add things to your post.
