Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Stay (2005)

This movie is da beast! The cinematography is lovely and the screenplay itself is written very well. I don't want to give out any spoilers because if you haven't yet watched it you do that now mini/wink

9/10

Garden State (2004)

A film about our generation, I really enjoyed it even though the ending could've been better because the movie gets you on the hook and you expect something in the end but it doesn't live up to it's promise.

8/10

Punisher: War Zone (2008)

A pretty solid action movie. I mean if action is what you are looking for then watch this one because it's full of goodness. It's a dude film and I didn't expect much from it so I gotta say I was pretty surprised how decent it was after watching it.

6/10

Fight Club

Brad Pitt was really awesome in this one and I gotta say this movie is a freakin' masterpiece if you compare it to the recent year's flicks that are usually dull and filled with explosions and slow-motion bulls**t.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Pirhana (Original)
Darker than I was expecting. There are these really drawn-out scenes with little kids being eaten alive that really aren't all that enjoyable to watch. Plus, that was a pretty bleak ending..]. I liked the scenes earlier on before the pirhanas were actually unleashed more than I liked the rest of the film, especially the scene in the lab with the stop-motion bipedal mutant pirhana watching them and the scene in the prison. All-in-all, though, it was OK I guess. I understand that this is Joe Dante's directoral debut? If that's the case then he did an alright job, it definatley had it's moments and I could see a lot of his usual stuff already in this. Plus, !@#$ Miller!

Drive Angry
A pretty awesome movie, could have been better in a few respects but I'm not complaining. William Fitchner was a lot of fun, easily stole the film ("Woah! Those are pretty !@#$. Here, have some water"). Nicolas Cage was kinda boring in this one (mostly), and a lot of the time it felt like he was just reading the lines, which is annoying because he is capable of actually acting pretty well. Plus, his hair was just awful. The Jonas dude reminded me of that makemebad35 guy off of YouTube (is that just me who sees that?).
The action was usually fairly entertaining, though at times it felt like they weren't all putting enough effort in. I liked the overall feel of the film, though, and it was all done with a wink and a smile which added to the film's sense of fun.
I'd definitely watch it again, if not purely for Fitchner's performance.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Thor

That was awesome! I kept hearing bad stuff about so I didn't feel like seeing it until now. I wish someone told me to see it earlier, that was really fun. The beginning came off with a rough start, but it just got better and better. Only scene that kinda took me out of the movie for a second was:

Spoiler (click to read)

The action scene where Thor kills the Destroyer. It reeeeaaally did not need to be that insane. I would have preferred Thor just walking up to it and beating it's ass with the hammer. Maybe he was just showing off though, idk.

Aside from that it was worth my time. The actors that played Thor and Loki were absolutely perfect too.
SOOO PUMPED FOR THE AVENGERS NOW.

4/5 filmyguy points!!!

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

The Ten Commandments (old one from 1956)

Watched it in school. One of my favorite stories from the Bible.

It was a great movie, but it was very, VERY long and some of the scenes looked incredibly cartoony and fake, like

Spoiler (click to read)

When God sets the pillar of fire in front of the Pharoah and his men.

Have you seen a big-chinned boy?

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Insidious

Generally speaking, I'm not much of a fan of horror films, but I really, really, really, really enjoyed this one. Some wonderful story, good acting, lots of cool creepy stuff, and a few really hilarious scenes.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Inception

Great plot, killer soundtrack, amazing!!!!

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Some awesome dude has got hold of the original 16mm work-print of 'Manos: The Hands of Fate' - and he's both preserving it, and trying to re-master it in HD!!

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Let's see here.

2010

The movie wasn't interesting until they went to Jupiter, from there on it looked like 2001 which was nice, but really I wish they never made this movie.  And it was behind the time in terms on special effects.

7/10

Tuck Everlasting

Nice story line, nice setting but this is 2002 film!?  The quality was poor and the dialogue was awkward.

6/10

The Matrix

I really enjoyed watching this and the concept is amazingly set up.

9/10

G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra

Terrible movie, really disappointing, but could I really expect more?

3/10

Super 8

Brilliant Film, I enjoyed ever minute of it I saw no flaws at all.

10/10.

Monty Python: The Holy Grail

Good old humor, why there where loads of flaws non of them could really be spotted because it is Monty Python.

5/10

Tron: Legacy

Erm...  How do I put this.  It looked nicemini/smile

Now go watch the 1923 version.

Great film, but the ending wasn't spectacular.

The Muppets
It was absolutely hilarious. Some of the cameos and breaking the 4th wall made me practically ROFL.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
I saw about 3/4 of it, and it was both awesome and hilarious.

Monsters (2010)

Good stuff, I'm impressed this guy created all the VFX for this move aswell as directing it.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Harry Potter and the Deathly hallows part two (Again)
Same as  before.

True Grit (Original)
Not as good as the new one.

Super 8
It was a pretty good movie though the setting felt more modern than 1979. Also, in one scene, the fire looked a little clip art like but other than that, it was pretty good.

Yeah, they really messed it up in some spots, like when they had cars that wern't made until after '79 driving in the background, or during the Walkman scene, because Walkman's wern't introduced into the USA until June 1980.
