If you're looking for a camera for animation, I suggest doing thorough research in the camera. When I got my camera, I thought it was perfect for animation, until I found out it doesn't support live feed to the computer (which you can then use an animation program with onion skinning). But I found a way around it, and still animate with it (I use a stabilizing effect to remove camera bumps, and I used StopIt to attach the photos from the camera into a video file)
The only camera I know of off the top of my head that has this feature is the t2i, or t3i. Though it is costly.
If by camera, you also mean webcams, the Webcam Pro 9000 is fantastic. I strongly suggest you read the link LASF posted above.
