Haven't seen it yet
I actually believe I have seen this scene but not the film. I believe in this scene this girl is on her own and she's scared because the scary music started playing or something. We can see this guy going around in black yet we do not get a good look. She is on the phone standing next to her stairs. Her stairs come down then has a little landing where the stairs then go off to the right for the last three steps. The phone is situated right next to this landing. The girl has put herself into this corner where she feels safe but unbeknownst to her is that the bad guy is actually on the steps or something and then he's sneaking down to kill her or whatever but then the girl quickly turns around and screams.
Then the preview of that scene ended. I'm afraid I couldn't tell you the movie though I do think this is the scene I saw.
Close evaluation RP, but that's not the scene. ![]()

Probably not right
You know what? I thought people would get this a lot easier; it seems this film isn't as popular as I suspected. I'm going to give a big hint here.

The serial killer in Halloween is based of the killer in this film pretty much. This film is one of the first of the slasher genre.
Come on, keep guessing.
