Topic: Is logitech HD webcam c525 good enough for brickfilming?

Hello,

I just started making brickfilms. My first animations were made with an ipod touch 4g camera. Now I want to make more sharper animations with a good enough quality so I'm gonna buy a new webcam. My question is: Is the logitech HD webcam c525 webcam good enough for brickfilming? Or is an other webcam recommended (maybe the logitech C615)?

Thx,

Rovy Studios

New videos will come in 2012. We wish everyone a merry christmas and a happy new year.

Hello yo tou RovyStudios. I think if you are just starting the animating, that you'll should got simple webcam, but if you want great webcam, I recommend Logitech c910. I think or I guess it's great, 'cause I haven't ever tried it, but it looks great that AbsurdAnimations uses. Alright. And the second choise would be Logitech c300 or Logitech Quickcam pro 9000 or Logitech c270. I hope it helps you. But I recommend that when you are a little better than now, you should buy Digital SLR.

Or, maybe not that c270. mini/frustrated mini/sweat

Looking at it's specs it looks pretty good, but the one thing that worries me is the "auto-focus" thing... you could probably change that though in the settings itself, but perhaps look into some user interfaces or reviews of the specific camera.

Re: Is logitech HD webcam c525 good enough for brickfilming?

Do not get it. With out manual focus your brickfilms will look really bad.

Re: Is logitech HD webcam c525 good enough for brickfilming?

Yeah yeah, that's what I said. But hopefully I will get my DSLR soon!

Um, why did you reply to Aquamorph with reference to yourself? It's not about you getting a DSLR, It's about helping RovyStudios to decide a camera! (Sorry to be a but of a nit picker here, but it just bothered me that you said that...) mini/confused

Re: Is logitech HD webcam c525 good enough for brickfilming?

I would have to suggest a Quickcam Pro 9000 or a C910. They are the best webcams for brickfilming.

Re: Is logitech HD webcam c525 good enough for brickfilming?

My quickcam pro 9000 has auto focus, but you can turn off the auto and use a slider bar to control the focus on the computer.  In my opinion that's better than having a manual focus on the camera, because you run the risk of bumping the camera while moving the focus ring.

I just need three more actors for my new film, check the casting call here.

That is still manual focus. A manual control is any setting you can adjust by yourself i.e. turning a ring or giving a number or adjusting a slider.

Re: Is logitech HD webcam c525 good enough for brickfilming?

But when the c525 has manual control it's a good webcam for stop motion? Or will the c615 still be better?

Re: Is logitech HD webcam c525 good enough for brickfilming?

I watched some reviews and they say you have also manual focus and manual white balance.

Go with a C910 as that way at least you will be future proofing yourself for a while.  The camera quality is better than the 9000.

I agree get a C910 it is well tested for brickfilming. I use a Quickcam Pro 9000 and it works great. The C910 has better picture quality and all the features of the Quickcam Pro 9000.

Re: Is logitech HD webcam c525 good enough for brickfilming?

But is c525 also good? They say it has manual control in the reviews and it costs less money.

I would go for the c525. looks good. But C910 would be top-notch for webcams

Re: Is logitech HD webcam c525 good enough for brickfilming?

BUY DSLR! Not really, but I recommend still c910! mini/smile
