Re: The Animation Challenge
Well, I expected to see more abstract stuff, but that animation was very good nonetheless. I can't wait to see all your entries, I'm happy to see many of you entering.

My entry:

That was great! The only thing I did not like was that he did not have arms, but that dosen't have anything to do with the theme.
Thanks for the awesome feedback! That was really over my expectations! ![]()
I found that making the arms was really hard, especially because I wanted the figure to be small. And I didn't want it to be very realistic. ![]()
Thank you! ![]()
Well here's my entry.

C'mon, just one day, and we have three entries (from what I saw). I want to see more. You still have one day.
Here is my entry. Thanks
Well, I'm going to judge later tomorrow, it looks like I'm still going to be rather busy.

You just ruined my hopes and dreams! Awesome! ![]()
The deadline was friday, but I didn't have time to judge.
Now, I think the time has come, to JUDGE (amirite?). Ok, let's do it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, I kinda expected to see more entries to this challenge, since everyone seemed so excited about it. I guess many of you didn't get it done in time...oh well, next time. I also hoped to see more abstract stuff, but that's ok, because after all it's just an animation challenge, not a contest. Anyway, we have:
In 3rd place:
Briks
The animation was surprisingly smooth and the execution simple. You could have reached first place if you showed us more of your skills with maybe a longer entry, it would have been interesting to see what else you could animate other than a man walking. Still, very smooth animation.
In 2nd place:
Brick8
The fact that you didn't just stick with animation and created a story around it helped. The splash animation was very realistic, and your effort to make it go with the music is surely appreciated, although at some times it made the animation look choppy, which it really isn't. But great job anyway.
And...1st place goes to:
Boardron
Other than the fact that this is what I hoped to see in this challenge, the animation is impressive in this one. It was great. It would have been better if it was longer. Probably just that. The technique you used worked perfectly here. Also, nice TMP reference. I don't know what else I can say. Congratulations for winning this challenge, give us a good theme.
Honorable Mentions:
FuntasticFilms: replacing the brick with a similar one didn't always work in your video, but it's still an appreciated effort. In some parts the animation was great, in other parts it looked a bit choppy, but it was great to see that at least you tried. It wasn't that far from getting in the top 3.
Runningninja90: The animation there wasn't the best, but well, you're here to improve. It didn't look smooth all the time, but at the end of the video the animation got better. You could have studied a more effective technique for it, but since you didn't have much time, it's ok. Keep practicing, you'll get better.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That was it, congratulation to the winners, I hope that Boardron posts a good theme, and good luck to everyone who'll enter the next challenge.
Those are the most in-depth results for an animation challenge I've ever seen.
Give us a good theme, boardron.
Theme for the next Animation Challenge:
To Be Determined
....
Deadline: sunday the 6th of november. No specific timezone: I'll just make sure it's monday everywhere in the world before I start judging.
Good luck!
For reference: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jde4qHbCtSg, at 3:20 there are also some nice ones...

Congratulations boardron!
Well, I think that this theme is quite similar to the previous one.
Eeehhh I am confused what you mean? Should we make like lego monster's fighting or something?
