District 9
Aside from being kinda weird in some parts, this was an incredibly awesome movie! Some of the special effects are a little iffy, though. For example, the people getting blown up into splatters of blood looks like it was made in Adobe After Effects. Aside from that, it was epic! The alien runcycles in some parts are incredibly realistic, and the climax was fantastic.

Tintin: The Secret Of The Unicorn

Best time (sorta) at the movies in ages! Spielberg has brought Tintin better to the screen than anyone else. Please people, go see this movie so it makes money and then they can make a sequel! The story for the sequel is even more epic. and I mean with (sorta) is that they we're 3-4 year olds at my screening who couldn't sit still, making noise and freaking crying. There are midday dutch version showings for these people!

Oh, I didn't realize that was out already.
Totally going to go see it, then.

EDIT: Oh, it looks like it gets released in Europe earlier than America. Dang. Oh well, still going to see it anyway.

Independence Day

When the first building blew up, I was like mini/cat the effects are going to be great!
Then the alien ships started blowing up.

Apart from that little let-down, it was a pretty good film.

I love the impossible plot in that film. The ending is just ridiculous. I do still think it's a great film, though.

The Nutty Professor (1963)

Oh my gosh, I love this movie. Jerry Lewis is amazing.

Also it's ten million times better than the remake that I saw first for some reason.

Once Upon a Time in America
Quite possibly the greatest gangster film I have ever seen.

The Prestige

THAT WAS SO GREAT!!!
All the awesome plot twists and everything were splendid! mini/bigsmile
I especially like how the entire film almost seemed to present itself like a magic trick.

I really want to watch it again now. Haha

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

From Dusk Till Dawn
Best vampire movie ever.

Once Upon a Time in Mexico
Never sure whether I like this film or not... I think I do. Sands is an awesome character, and it's nice to just pop on while you're doing something else, as it seems to be more a series of cool scenes and moments than a coherent film, so you don't have to pay a lot of attention to enjoy it.
The climax is really good with Sands' plot line, though El's scenes are a little lacking. In fact, Sands kinda steals the show for the whole film, now that I think about it...
I watched it with Robert Rodriguez's commentary, he mentioned doing "Once Upon a Time in Mexico, Part 2 + 3", about Sands' further adventures, so he'd have two trilogies, but only five films. I would love to see that, though I doubt it'll happen.
Best bit is easily when Sands surprise-shoots Eva Mendes with his fake arm on to trick her, even though it's pretty much impossible for him to have planned that out. You play along because it's so rewarding when he does it.]

In Time
Pretty cool premise, though easily could gave been done way better. Don't know how fond I am of Justin Timberlake's acting prowess, though (he's good in roles that suit him, eg. The Social Network, but otherwise...).
Cillian Murphy was fun in this, though his character was pretty clichéd and two dimensional. Maybe that's why he was fun... Otherwise the cast just felt like they were there to look pretty, especially Amanda Seyfried. Though I'm not complaining about her.
The Minutemen sub-plot was pretty tiresome and got old quickly. Those characters were dumb.
Overall very-slightly above mediocre, for a cool concept and Amanda's constant short skirts (literally the only style she had for all her scenes).

Drive
Wow. This was amazing.

Surrogates
It was a lot weirder than I expected, but it has great action and a cool plot. I would watch it again. mini/bigsmile

Fanboys

It reminded me of Rango in how all the movie references were great (as well as the cameos), but the rest of the humour fell flat - apart from the very last line which was by far the best joke in the movie.

Spoiler (click to read)

They're about to watch the première of The Phantom Menace - which they've been hyped up for years about, right down to a countdown saying '102 days, 12 hours, and 32 mins until Episode 1'. Then one of the guys turns to the rest and says: "What if this sucks?" Cut to credits.

By FAR the best joke in the movie, and a really great ending. I kind of wish the rest was this good...

I really didn't like the 'cancer' sub-plot. You'd think if one of your friends had cancer they would treat it much more seriously, not to mention the movie. It just lays forgotten until the end when the movie goes: "DUH! WE'RE BEING SERIOUS NOW!!" I usually like tone shifts (Four Lions and Shaun of the Dead are great examples of comedies that suddenly shift in tone) but this was a poorly done one.

Also, the characters were a bit annoying - but apart from that its OK if your a Star Wars fan and are looking for some quick laughs.

Drag Me To Hell
Note to self: NEVER again watch this movie by yourself at 10 o'clock at night. It creeped the heck out of me. You might be thinking, "oh dat's not scary go watch "So-and-so", but I haven't really watched too many horror films in my life. I especially creeped me out when

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Herge's Adventures of Tintin: The Movie: The Secret Of The Unicorn

Or a title similar to that.

I adore Tintin, so I was a little worried the film may be a monumentous let-down. It wasn't. There was humour, action (Hollywood added some extra scenes, obviously), and the animation was outstanding. The chances of a sequel looks promising.

I don't make Brickfilms. I trade virtual hats.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Scre4m
The storyline was pathetic. The actor’s lines were cheesy. Most of it was predictable. The atmosphere was ruined by the fakeness of the deaths.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Zookeeper
It was okay. It had it's funny moments. Though talking animals is a bit unoriginal.

Spoiler (click to read)

I liked when Griffin, the zookeeper, took the gorilla, Bernie, to TGI Friday's.

I wasn't really expecting it to focus around love though. That sort of surprised me.
