Canon Vixia HV40 is a great camera and reasonably priced, if you have a little more money I highly recommend in getting the Sony HDR-XR550V.

Ok, those cameras cost around $750 - $1000. I doubt that most of the younger users on this site are going to be able to afford that.
I use the Canon HFM300. But it's still probably expensive for a lot of younger users. I always teach beginners how to animate with frame capture program and a $30 - $70 webcam. It really all depends on your price range.
well i should be getting a job soon, so i will save up for a nikon, or somthing,
unless Nikons are crud
