I had the same problem with german. Plus: I had to learn it during a spelling reform. That's like teaching medieval gaelic literature to a japanese teenager. Or like Mark Twain said: "A person who has not studied German can form no idea of what a perplexing language it is."

On the plus side, it's my birthday on Sunday but I haven't really been that enthusiastic about it. MLP: FiM season 2 has kind of overshadowed it...
