Topic: Webcam Quality

Hey guys,

Lately, it seems my webcam quality has been really low and I was wondering if that is normal or if I can fix it. I have a Logitech Webcam 9000 Pro.

Re: Webcam Quality

Is the set not as well lit as it was before?

Re: Webcam Quality

No, it's well lit. It's the far away quality that gets me. I tried to focus in on an object that was in the middle of the back and fore ground and it wasn't as good as it usually was. BTW, I just updated my downgraded software.

Re: Webcam Quality

I've noticed that even at a high resolution, it tends to get pixelated. For some reason, the pixels clump together. I think frame averaging will solve that.

Re: Webcam Quality

So, how can I do that?

Does your frame capture software have that option?
I know Stop Motion Pro can. It comes up as an option in the capture settings.

Re: Webcam Quality

When I plug my webcam into the usb port directly into my computer, the quality is extremely horrible. Though when I plug the webcam into my usb extension (4 usbs in 1), my quality is increased. I don't know why, and I don't know how, but I do know it works for me. Plus it allows me the benefit of having more usbs instead of having to re-arrange and unplug certain usbs. If you have one, use it. I bought mine for 10 bucks at walmart. Hope this helps!
