Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread
Not sure what the brick background is supposed to be.
Yeah it was supposed to be a wall that I never completed... but I might just put some houses with a blue piece of paper behind it in later versions of my set.

Some rooms inside Wayne Manor for I am the Darkness (tentative title for the shorter of my two bat-films).

I'm pretty happy with how this turned out, especially the lighting and the windows. I'm going to touch on it just a bit, get rid of that light streaming through wall cracks and other stuff. Though, I still feel it needs something.
Also, I'm not completely sure about his fancy weird crystal lamps. I might replace them with glass orb lamps.

Wish I could make the orb lamps be an unsaturated colour, but my other light stopped working. >.<
(Just in case you're wondering, I lit the lamps with a black light on the other side of the wall shining through little holes in it.)
Nice job, I like the lighting, and I have always liked trans-brick windows.
i like your set it really cool the set lighting was great
I was amazed by this ![]()
Love the window lighting. I just have one question, how did you get the crystals to shine like that? I can never get my set to do that.
The window lighting is great, but I think it needs some landscape, like a miniature city (I feel like that's what's missing). The rest is quite amazing, the set design is perfect. Also, I don't see any problem with the crystal lights.
Cool, glad everyone likes it.
I'll keep the lamps then.
Eddie, here's an other picture:
So, basically, I have this triple black light behind the wall, and I replaced two of the bricks in the wall with 2 x 1 bricks with technic axle holes in them. Light shines through the holes into the crystals, neon green colour reacts to the black light in an awesome way, and I have glowing crystals.![]()

Yeah, I felt it was a little blank, I was meaning to add something, but I forgot to set it up for these pictures. Wayne Manor is actually pretty far out from the city, so I'll leave that out. I'll probably add maybe a tree top since he's on the second floor.
That lighting is pure genious, ANP. The sets and everything about is is amazing. I normally don't look forward to LEGO Batman films, but that one, I can't wait to see.
Great!
I am not a fan of Batman, but that looks awesome!
I am really looking forward to the movie! Can't wait! ![]()
You actually won't have to wait that long for this one.
It will be released by November 15th, unless something goes horribly wrong. I'm making it for a contest, so I'll need to finish it by that time. I'll do everything I can to finish by then.
After that, I'll move on to the bigger, more serious yet similar project.
Awesome ANP! I love the crystal lighting and the sets.
But, I personally think that the butlers face is a bit weird/out of place
btw, I was actually thinking about making a longer batman film ![]()

okay, heres a set that i'm working on.

this is like a gun holder thing that spins out

this is supposed to be an office type thing for astronauts. ![]()
I think it needs some windows in front of the control panels.
The walls are kinda low, you might want to build some more on top of it. When you have the camera up close to the minfigs, you can see whatever's behind your set.
well, its supposed to be on mars or some planet, so the window thing won't work.
and i don't have anymore white bricks
i was thinking build the rest with grey bricks, because i have a lot of those.. but idk. any suggestions? ![]()

Put a row or two in the middle of the wall all around. It'll boost up the walls and won't look out of place.Sort of what Fancypan tdoes in Clone training center with blue bricks.

Okay, thanks! I'll try that. ![]()
Yeah, blue and white work well, if you have enough. Also be warned - gray and white are the most flicker prone colours.

What's wrong with buildings with windows on Mars? If they can have windows on spaceships, they can certainly have windows on buildings on Mars.
i guess you're right, but i just don't think it will look good.. hmm, i might give it a try..
