Topic: shaking

Whenever I am doing a scene that is up close on a minfigure, the minifigure's body will be slanted differently after i move its head or body part. Or if i pick the minifigure up and adjust the part that needs adjusting i can never set it down the same position it was standing up in the previous picture. Basically, the finished product is the minifigure doing the action that I want but it looks to be shaking while doing so. Does anyone know any tips to prevent this from happening? thanks.

Make use of a feature found in most stop motion software called "onionskinning". This will give you a slightly transparent overlay of the last frame you took, allowing you to line the minifigure up to where it was previously.

Yeah, I use onionskinning in Helium frog, but I think that the changes are so insignificant that I don't notice them in the onionskinning until the picture is taken.

Try what I do: Before you take the frame, toggle back and forth between the stored frames and the live view. If you notice a little bit of change between the two, use onionskinning to match it up. When you slide the bar, if there is a difference between the two, the part that is different will look blurry. When you move the minfig into the right spot, it will become clear. When it looks like that, the two parts are matched up.

Not literally dead, just no longer interested in Lego or animation.

On what type of board art thou animating? Some boards have different studs which are not quite optimal for animation.

Yeah thanks minifig051 I'll try that. I'm not sure what kind of board it is but yeah it would be nice if they would stick better, like they do on just regular bricks.
