Re: The Animation Challenge

I'd love to see what others would come up with a theme like magic. I like it.

Okay, I'll do that. mini/smile

NEW THEME:
Magic
Animate something with magic, anything! A wizard transforming something, mixing potions, casting spells, friendship, et cetera.

Deadline: September 12th, no specific time, as long as it is on that day. mini/smile

Re: The Animation Challenge

You can "Expecto" me to probably enter this. Lately I've become alot more organised, and was thinking of doing something with wizzards.

Re: The Animation Challenge

Wouldn't magic be more of a FX-based challenge than animation?

Well, I can't enter anyway. I will be on vacation all this week. Would've loved to, though! mini/smile

No. You can make magic effects during animation, with bricks and tin foil and stuff like that.

Re: The Animation Challenge

Another great theme!

I would like to enter, but I don't think I'll be able to. I'm busy with the short I was going to make for the Reflections challange. School starts in two days, I'll have less time to animate.

Not literally dead, just no longer interested in Lego or animation.

Re: The Animation Challenge

Are visual effects allowed to supplement animation?
I would be greatly distraught if they weren't.

Re: The Animation Challenge

Wow, I'm glad everyone's liking this a lot. mini/smile Looks likes this is going to be a good one.

Feel free to use visual effects, perfectly okay, but try not to have them be the main focus of it. I'd like to see some cool imaginative stuff.

A good example would be this one test animation I didn't release; I had a plain minifigure, next frame, I put a silver stud on his head, next frame a silver fire fighter helmet (With the brim in the back facing away from the camera), and for the last frame a full knight helmet, it created a very nice effect of transformation.

But still, I like special effects, just don't make it be completely effects.

Re: The Animation Challenge

If anyone wants to use this idea they can, a magician fight. A man fights a wizard and he makes his hands disappear while fighting or something like that. I don't know, feel free to use it. mini/sunnies

FOS ENTRY: Animation: 10% Done, Editing: 0% Done, Voice actors: 0%

Re: The Animation Challenge

Darn, why all the good themes are when I'm on holidays? This theme is great, I could have thousand ideas for this (and the one before, of course, it was much mre challenging, but awesome theme anyway).

Re: The Animation Challenge

okay, i'm definantly entering this mini/bigsmile

I was sort of thinking there could be a challenge series just of FX, or what it could be is that there is 2 categories, one for  just animation and another with effects...

Re: The Animation Challenge

Sounds purty awesome. I'll try and whip something up.

Me and JamPot tried to start one (an FX challenge) but, sadly, it never took off.

Whoa, I loved the transformation effects. mini/smile That was cool. Tad choppy, but nice.

Re: The Animation Challenge

JK and I are working on a co-production. It's a big project though, so no guarantee it'll be finished on time. We'll try our best.
