Topic: LW9000 Updates
Hey guys,
I recently heard that the Logitech Webcam 9000 Pro had an update that had white balance and manual focus on it. Is this true? And is it as good at warding off light flicker? Thanks.
So yeah, I'm back from my mind.

Yes and yes. kthxbai
Yes, I now have control of the white balance. I'm not sure about it reducing light flicker, because I used regular lightbulbs back then. It was flickering a bit because of that, so I couldn't tell if having control of the white balnce made a difference or not. But I guess it would, since auto settings always cause some sort of flickering.
I've never heard of a version without manual focus, though. I always had a manual focus option.
So, I mean, does light flicker happen with the new software? I guess that's a better question.

Well, if you've got every setting on manual, the anti-flicker off, and the exposure bar past the gain bar, then you shouldn't have any light flicker. I have my camera set to those settings, and I have no light flicker. If you still get light flicker with the settings that way, it's not the camera.
If it's not the camera, what would it be?
Also, could I see some pics of your setup?
You need to film in the dark.
Let's rephrase that, shall we. You need an environment where the only light is your own. I.e. Block out the window and use set lamps.
So, this is a new software. Because last time I spent a good hour trying to downgrade my software. So this is new stuff right?

What?

What?
He's asking if these settings are in a new Logitech update. The answer would be yes. But remember, Even with completely manual settings at your disposal, your "studio" has to have zero outside light, ie, filming in the dark. Filming at night is a good idea.
Also, try to avoid brightly colored shirts. When animating, try wearing a t-shirt you'd wear to a funeral.
Haha, thanks guys. Now I just have one more question, how do I upgrade? Because my program says it's up to date.
Hey, I'm back from vacation so I was wondering how do I update?
I got my update by buying my camera and waiting 2-3 days... It should say a new update is available. I think... ![]()
Yes but I have old software.
