Captain America: The First Avenger

I was thoroughly entertained. It was everything a Captain America could and should have been. I haven't seen Thor, but I have a feeling this one kicks Thor's ass. Still haven't seen it though so don't quote me on that.
I highly recommend seeing it, it's a really good time. The action was top notch awesomesauce, maybe it wasn't the most realistic thing in the movie, but it worked.

And I have a feeling that cube of energy has a little something to do with, I don't know, AN ARC REACTOR. Just sayin, because they had Stark Senior find it later in the movie.

I'm so pumped for The Avengers.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes

Much, much better than I expected, especially for being an 'Apes' film. Most of the human characters were, for the most part, pretty bland and uninteresting (particularly Freida Pinto, and John Lithgow's character deserved far better), but thankfully, the film's primary focus was on the apes. Andy Serkis steals pretty much every scene he's in, and I was surprised by the assured, economic direction of Rupert Wyatt. I was amazed by how quickly the film moves, yet it never feels like any key information was left out or dumbed down for plot convenience. Despite a couple of nitpicks with the CG, the visual effects were incredibly effective.

Spoiler (click to read)

Tom Felton's delivery of the "Take your stinkin' paw off me..." line was pretty atrocious (I'd fault the writers more than the actor, though. The line didn't fit in with any of the character's other dialogue, and just sounded incredibly out of place). However, I can easily overlook it because the moment that immediately followed was probably the best scene in the film.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2

Yeah, yeah, I know, slowpoke.jpg here (I should also mention that I haven't seen Part 1 yet). This film is basically 100% spectacle and not really much else. I suppose this is expected of a part 2, but with this one in particular, I definitely got the impression that the action was intended to upstage the performers (though with an ensemble cast like the one HP has accumulated over the years, their screen presence is usually enough). However, taking it for what it was, I liked it a fair amount, and that's about the most I have to say.

Beetlejuice
Interesting. Pretty random, and the effects are all quite dated now, but I still quite liked it.

SUPER 8
I honestly can't see what all the fuss is about.

I'm joking, it was great. It felt like a classic spielberg film. The child actors were great, and I loved the scenes where they were shooting their film. I loved the film in the credits too.
The train explosion was amazing. Unrealistic, but, wow it was cool. I also loved the scene where they were in the army bus. That reminded me a bit of the trex attack scene from jurassic park. I think that it would have been better if it was raining in that scene though, would have been a good use of pathetic fallacy.

I really wish it had more to do with the alien landing though. I remember reading on iTunes it was being transported from area 51, I wish there was a bit more on that. I know there was the film, its just things like area 51 really fascinate me. I would have liked it if there were more relations to that.
But overall I loved it. I may even get it on DVD, something I hardly ever do.

Billy Madison

"At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought"

Sums up the movie (seriously: this is the best put down I have heard since anything Blackadder says). Although, there were a few cheap laughs to be had, and the premise of an adult in highschool is fairly interesting - except it was shunned by a stupid plot about his fathers business. Not to mention the choice of music is pretty good.

A.I. Artificial Intelligence
Great film. I was expecting it to be a take-over movie by the robots, but it was a lot better than that.

Those who followed and participated in the ARG for Super 8 got a kick out of it; they found a bunch of information about the alien, where it came from, etc. that wasn't shown or talked about in the movie. I guess they felt like detectives. mini/tongue

Captain America

It's alright, but not what I expected.

I'm feeling it again!

The Wizard of Oz

Kinda cheesy at points, yes, but I absolutely love this movie. mini/smile
All the colors, the story, the characters, it's so wonderful! mini/delirium
Even after watching a dozen+ times already. Scarecrow is my favorite. mini/yes

Yeah, I've seen that many times as well. It's a good movie.
I've even seen an animated version that has Tom and Jerry incorporated in it.

I was thinking of making a Bricks episode that's a parody of it, called The Mizzard of Groz.
It would subsitute in the Bricks charcters for the main parts, like Furst in Dorothy's place, Score in the Tin Man's place (as the Creaky Cranky Robot), Jed in the Cowardly Lion's place (as the Nervous Knight), and Klutz in the Scarecrow's place (as the Clumsy Scarecrow). I thought I might mention that because you like the Scarecrow, and Klutz is playing the Scarecrow, and since you voice Klutz, you'd be voicing the Clumsy Scarecrow when it's time for that episode.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

That just made me really happy. xD

Actually quite good.
I didn't have my hopes up, though.

I thought it was horrible, though I didn't see a lot of it. From what I saw, I'd give it a 1.5/5.

My older brother didn't let me see Super 8 because "they use too many swear words". I was infuriated.

How can you judge a film if you haven't even seen it fully.

That's not fair to the movie at all.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Well, to be fair, it is a pretty horrible film.
