Topic: Monkeyjam Size Problems

Has anyone else had a problem where when you try to film at a large resolution in MonkeyJam like 1280x960 the frame capture window take up the entire screen? If so, do you know how to fix this. Thanks.

Do you have windows or mac? Because if you have window you right click on your desktop and press screen resolution... (windows 7)

The reason the pic takes up the whole screen is say you are viewing a picture that is 1400x800. It will fill up the whole screen because the pixels shrink to fit the screen.

Why don't you take pictures in 720p?

Re: Monkeyjam Size Problems

Because it becomes too large for my screen. I though I made this clear.

Yo usiad you were taking pictures in 1280x960. 960>768, but would it not fit in 720p because 1280x720<1336x768?

Re: Monkeyjam Size Problems

Hah, sorry I'm not understanding what you mean. It's just whenever I film at a resolution higher than 800x600 the capture window becomes too large for my screen.

Re: Monkeyjam Size Problems

Isn't there something where you can grab the corner and it makes the veiwing window smaller? I use Stop Motion Pro, and it can do that. I'm not sure if Monkeyjam can.

I think Aero means "Your capture resolution is bigger than your screen resolution. But wouldn't 1280x720 fit because it's bigger than your screen resolution?"

Not literally dead, just no longer interested in Lego or animation.

Re: Monkeyjam Size Problems

Turn up your monitors screen resolution.
If you're using Windows 7 or Vista, right click on your desktop and select screen resolution.
Or just film in a smaller resolution, like 1280x720 or 720x480.

That resolution is probably the highest his monitor can support. Turning up the resolution to higher than what your monitor can support mini/no IS NOT A GOOD IDEA mini/no  . I done it once and it took me ages to get back to normal, meanwhile no image was coming on the screen.

Re: Monkeyjam Size Problems

Yeah, I had this problem before but I never solved it. It's cause the window resolution is bigger than you whole monitor resolution. I just make the window smaller, you won't be able to see the whole shot but it'll help.

Re: Monkeyjam Size Problems

Yep, Monkey Jam displays the capture window to scale, pixel for pixel. If you monitor is smaller than the image you're trying to capture, then the capture window will logically be bigger than your screen. Just lower the resolution. 720p is still HD and it isn't really necessary to go beyond that range, unless it will actually make a difference.

I use HeliumFrog, which scales down the image to workable size while capturing, but when you look at the actual file, it is the size you were aiming for.

Re: Monkeyjam Size Problems

Thanks guys, and after BRAWL I'm thinking of purchasing a frame capture program so I don't have to deal with this. any suggestions? I heard Stop Motion Pro was good.
