Ok so I've heard alot of good things about dragon stopmotion and when I download the trial on the website a certific error pops up and says this is not commonly downloaded and blah blah how it could harm my computer... Does anyone know if that is a safe download?
Yes, of course it's a safe download. That's just your browser thinking of you and trying to keep you as safe as can be.

That's quite understandable. Just make sure you are downloading the file from the official website (http://www.dragonstopmotion.com/), and you can be sure it's safe.

I must admit I have never used dragon before but I think you should invest in other parts of the hobby before blowing major coin on just software.
Yeah I actually have Claymation Studio 2.0 right now but now am getting 3.0 for 40$... I am getting this until I can afford better stuff. I'm getting this software for free because I am working on a project right now and the person who wanted the video is actually finacing all the supplies (within reason).

I used the original Claymation Studio and was unimpressed I dont know how different 2.0 or 3.0 is but I would suggest switching to MonkeyJam or Helium Frog.
I have another thread about monkeyjam but it is currently not out yet... and claymationstudio 3.0 has reletivley to the price good features. 3.0 includes HD 720P capabilities, croma-key effects, onion skinning, rotoscope, and some other features. We got it because we needed a program soon and I did not know exactly when it would come out and I did'nt have time to wait.

When I downloaded Helium Frog to my laptop it was okay- nothing happened.
Yeah I think the software is safe but the website itself I think was infected by a virus

You can really only get viruses by downloading something or clicking something, not just by looking at a site. I don#t think that's how it works anyway...:)

When you go to a site your computer downloads the information temporarily on the computer. Therefore, you can get a virus by just visiting the site.

Some website insta-download things like Mac Defender for an example, I have had to clear off a few insta-downloaded things from my computer.

If you use Firefox or Chrome, I recommend the "WOT" add-on, it notifies you if a web site is safe or not.
I recall visiting a site one day when a window popped up asking me to download some antivirus software, I hit cancel, but while the window disappeared, the software got on my computer, and it forbid me to do anything on the computer until I payed an insane amount of money, fortunately, we managed to get it off with malbytes anti-malware. So we don't have to worry about it. But do get WOT, it's useful, and amazingly helpful when searching for sketchy topics like free screensavers.
