Topic: Compressing [EDITING] Help

Brickfilmers,

I just received the Logitech Webcam Pro 9000, and I'm wondering how to compress the video into editing software. I basically want to know how to add the compiled photos into an editing program, but I don't know how. I currently use MonkeyJam to compress the photos.
Thanks mini/bigsmile

Re: Compressing [EDITING] Help

First of all. You dont compress video into editing software. You import it from with in the program. Second, you shouldn't compress the pictures in MonkyJam, You should chose uncompressed and then after you done editing, you can compress it for youtube.

What do you mean by "compress" the photos. Do you mean lowering the size, or editing the final film?

Re: Compressing [EDITING] Help

I mean compressing as in join all the frames to make stop motion

Re: Compressing [EDITING] Help

Compressing is the wrong word here.  You mean to create sequences out of the images you've taken.  For that, you need a video editor.

Compress (verb) - to press together; force into less space.

Let us know when you've caught up to that part.  Compression for us means to reduce the size of a video or image to something that can be uploaded/downloaded at a reasonable speed and time.  That typically involves using algorithms that compresses the image data with or without some loss of quality.

Re: Compressing [EDITING] Help

Ah, I get it. You want to know how to export the animation out of Monkeyjam and import it into and editing program.

What you need to do is export your frames as an AVI file. In my frame capture program, I go to File>Make movie to do that (I use Stop Motion Pro). Make sure you set it to uncompressed, my editing program can't open a compressed file (it said it wasn't supported by codecs or something). After it's been exported, import it into your editing program.
