I had a friend who told me that he had watched a pre-video ad, and it was the trailer for some movie called "The Virginity Hit". Now I know what he's looking at. 
What about the big Ads?
Y'know, the ones that play before the actual video.
You're more than likely NOT to get those. Those are mainly for more viral videos, and on partner channels. I think it's safe to say you'd just get side ads, and the annoying little ones at the bottom of your video 
. You have nothing to worry about.

I have ads on a non-brickfilming channel the vids get around 150k views combined a year. The money isnt bad.

If you apply for Partnership, there's no obligation to put adverts on your videos. Besides, YouTubers have grown accustomed to adverts so I don't see anything wrong with putting them on your videos.

Personally, I hate the ads...
You can choose the frame for your video, stuff as long as you like, and have the banner. If I'm correct.
I should probably get a partnership before I Am The Night is finished so I can upload the whole thing at once.
I hate having stuff in parts.
Partnership doesn't give you a longer video allowance, you have to set your account type to 'Director'. They've made it increasingly harder to do so and I have no idea how to do it with the Cosmic Panda layout but if you haven't switched to that, just follow this guide.
