I plan on doing a better film with similar techniques. I won't say how it's made as it would take away from it.

Uhh... What? mini/dizzy

Re: Nebula test film

if this is NOT a Brickfilm, then why is it on here?

Re: Nebula test film

It's on here because it's in the "Other Films" section. This section is for non-lego films that BiMers may wish to share with the BiM community.

Re: Nebula test film

AND no double-posting. This means posting two times in a row. Just a reminder, since you're new. mini/smile

Re: Nebula test film

Well, I know what technique was used for this, but I may have recieved some help to notice it...

Spoiler (click to read)

...I saw the making of 2001: a space odyssey.

At times the way it was made looks obvious (to me), in some parts it's very well done.

Re: Nebula test film

I don't think this is the technique they used in 2001: I'm not sure how you did it but in 2001 they used a slit-screen effect. But I liked this. It was pretty cool.

Re: Nebula test film

Actually, I'm talking about another effect used in 2001, not the slit-scan.

Re: Nebula test film

Oh really? When did they do that?

I forgot to say, also the music was very 2001-esque. Great job.

Re: Nebula test film

It's the same scene, but the part where there are giant nova explosions (not sure if what I said makes sense).
Here, at 2:48. I'm talking about that part.

Re: Nebula test film

Oh yeah I forgot about that part. I only remembered the slit-scan and the weird landscapes.

Re: Nebula test film

It is a similar effect, Douglas Trumbull also used liquid effects on Tree of Life which I recommend you see. I am planning to get a fishtank to try out more special effects like this.
