We do, it's just disabled for people who aren't on the staff.
Well, obviously not is everyone abused it before. ![]()
Well, to be honest, I wouldn't want a poll feature available to the general public, since people would overuse it and make poll's for everything.
"How many times a day do you poop? VOTE!"
"How many pieces of toilet paper do you use? VOTE!"
Newcomers would abuse it wayyyyy tooooo muchhhh. So the idea is kinda bad. Not trying to be rude.
"How many times a day do you poop? VOTE!"
"How many pieces of toilet paper do you use? VOTE!"
Sigged.
Maybe we should have a "request a Poll' instead.

If that happens then it will end up like the film queue. It would be filled with lack-luster and pointless polls while the useful ones will be buried. I also think that by posting a topic you are taking a poll the only difference being that you dont get a pretty chart prepared for you instead of searching through posts yourself.
Do you guys think we should have a poll option open for everyone?
Yes: [ ]
No: [ ]
If my prior post doesnt already indicate so. No I do not think there should b a poll option. I cant imagine what would be necessary to discuss in the way of a poll.
I just had this idea yesterday: Makeshift Polls. One post that says vote up if ____, and one post that says vote down if ____. Or something like that. Then count the votes.
Or, we could do this.
Do you guys think we should have a poll option open for everyone?
Yes: [ ]
No: [✓]
Just some options.

I like the first thing because it's easier to count the votes. Of course, it will also be abused as a tool of upping your rep.
Also, it's practically just finding a way around the fact that we don't have a poll feature.
We don't have it for a reason.

A "Request a poll" isn't actually a bad idea. The requested poll would have to go through the mods before being approved/disapproved. That way the polls abusing the feature wouldn't pass.
@Stoppedmotion
What you said means that everyone wanting to find the results would have to search through the thread.
The "request-a-poll" option is, albeit unofficially, in place right now. If you feel like you have a good idea for a poll, let one of us know and we'll get it started for you.
That's useful to know.
Funnily enough, and I'm sure it was a glitch, I was able to use it for a period of time about a week or two ago. Was that a beta phase or was that just a mess-up?
I propose a new strategy:
Let the wookie win.
Now seriously, I have an idea: why don't handle polls like it's done on Eurobricks? People above a certain amount of posts will be able to create polls. On eurobricks, I think you need to have 500 posts I think (then you're a "Knight" on the site) to earn the feature.
Any thoughts?

I don't think that's a good idea.
It's never really good to have a system where you get ranks and stuff because of post numbers.
Or else people start posting a lot just to get a rank.
Empire, a guy on the LEGO site, posted a whole bunch just to get some super high rank, but most of his posts were not really extremely thoughtful or interesting. ![]()

NO.
Maybe just ask a mod to create a poll on your thread?
What about that?
