I don't know why you guys are still discussing this. I don't think it's that big of a deal. Sure it can be helpful, and it can be a little pointless. If the reputation meter is really bothering you, don't look at your reputation

I'm afraid the discussion will still be on in a year. Let's just drop the subject for once and see how the rep meter plays out. All points have been made.
Now I already see a flaw with this system that I stated before, somebody is trying to downvote me on every post I make, now I am fully aware of who that person is, but the administration can't do anything about it since they can't identify who it is, even though I know.

I think there is a feature in the rep system that would allow for us to see who does the upvoting or downvoting, however, it is not enabled right now. Not only do we have problems with people downvoting eachother, it appears as though some people simply upvote eachother for every single post.
Their's pros and cons to it. I personally think it's a good way to let people know where you stand on this site.
Well I had a rep of like 63, now I'm down in the 30's. I think some people got upset, so they're trying to downvote on every post. Whatever.

Be perfectly honest, when you're reading posts, do you even look at people's reputation? Imagine: "Well, his post is well thought out and makes some good points, but his reputation is -50 so I shall ignore him."
A little bit silly if you ask me....
Yeah, but if his reputation is -50 without tampering, he probably wouldn't be the type of guy to write a post like that in the first place.
Not to mention that the Reputation meter isn't really intended for those of us who are familiar with the site and its members anyhow. It's made for those who are new and want to get a feel for things. It's not the be-all and end-all, obviously, but it is one indicator to be used.
Will post deleted if they are strongly downvoted?

Nope, nothing that sophisticated.
I don't care about this, really. Like "oh, look, I got a minus point, oh well". just my opinion, though.
