YouTube is testing out a new layout. You can have a look here:
http://www.youtube.com/cosmicpanda
I started crying, then switched back.
EDIT: Then I got over it and switched back again. Notable changes that I noted (will continue editing as I notice things):
Thumbs up and thumbs down on comments are now called Like and Dislike.
Variable player sizes.
Instead of just the little red bar invading the video, the whole thing with the timecode and everything pops up to say hi.
Less related videos, with MASSIVE THUMBNAILS.
You pause a video and visit someone's channel, then come back to it without leaving the page. I think that's pretty cool.
Channels now have HUGE THUMBNAILS. That's just the default, though. You can use the 'template' option to change the layout. There's a bigger emphasis on playlists in a lot of them, so I've stuck with the default because I don't really do playlists.
The logo has gone from Pillar Box Red to a slick Wine Red. YouTube is classy now.
Comments now have your channel picture next to them. I like this, the channel picture wasn't used a lot in the last layout.
A list of a creator's videos now appear under the video you're watching. Cool.

I like the youtube.com homepage, but everything else (Channel) is horrible. It started making me cry too. ![]()
I like it so far. Gonna take some time getting used to the new profile/channel look though.
I hate the new look of YouTube. It's just my opinion, although I like some parts of it like the new shade of red for the Youtube logo, most of the features don't appeal to me much.
I'm intrigued by the new layout, but I think that if it's going to feature such large thumbnails (which is really a misnomer here), they need to start allowing non-partners a manual option.

Why, YouTube, why? I don't really like much of any of the new features. I think the YouTube icon now is just ugly with the wine red color. I can't believe it will actually look like that soon *sniff*
I also noticed they changed the text so now on my half-white background the text sinks in.
What the crap is up new features? Does it make them more money? I was fine how it was.

Stop your whining and click Feedback on the left side of the page. Everyone was acting like babies when they tried out the previous YouTube redesign, and then everybody got used to it.
...Now, how do i exactly change back?
Go to Cosmic Panda
Click 'Go back to old version'
It's really horrible! I got used to the current youtube and I want it to stay that way. Those thumbnails are ugly and the channel looks like some lame blog site full of enormous thumbnails it's really bad. Just freakin awful!
Meh, the thumbnails aren't too bad. It's a decent size for the most part.
Lol, I was playing around with the channel design on the new layout, and I got this:
To be honest, I kinda like the channel part of it. The other stuff, I'm not so sure about.

Wow! This is pretty cool. I havent seen it before: http://www.youtube.com/topics
Brickfilm is actually one of the topics! It comes up almost every time you reload/enter the page!
Have anyone of you guys seen it already?
I dont know if I am too late with this! ![]()
That's actually really cool!
I never knew YouTube was actually into this stuff! ![]()
So I just got an email from YouTube saying that I might be able to enable monetization for my videos. I've got several videos I'd like to enable them for, but there's only one I'm squirmy about sending in. Since the video I send it might be taken down because of my doing so if it doesn't comply, I want to bring it up here first.
The video is my Portal Gun Test. It contains the exact sound effects from the original Portal, which I extracted from my game files. Will I get into trouble for trying to earn money from this?
I got that email too UniLego, I sent in a bunch of my videos to it and a few got approved so far. Anyways, UniLego, go for it, I don't think YouTube would notice since it's not a song.
Yeah, YouTube doesn't notice sound effects as far as I can tell. People can gain profit from lightsaber videos - as long as there is no Star Wars music playing in the background.
