Topic: The Name Clinic

I have the opinion that a name matters for a film. I am much more likely to watch a film if it has an intriguing name. The name is an important part of the film that can be a deciding factor if people watch it or not. A lot of people overlook the name as not that important, but I disagree. For example, a name I enjoyed was Brickyman's "X //: Arena." I would have ended up skipping it in the Releases forum if it didn't have an such an intriguing name. A film that I thought could have had a stronger, more descriptive name is mobiledeli's "Egyptian Holiday." So please post a little bit about your upcoming film and the title of it, and we'll either approve it, or suggest a better name. Happy naming! mini/smile

Re: The Name Clinic

I totally agree. Names are so important.
Of course, they don't effect the movie that much, but it's still very important.

I'm naming a Batman film "I am the Night" What do you think of that?
I really like the fact that it's not just some old regular Batman movie where you have Batman in the title (Batman: the movie, "Batman", Batman Returns, Batman Forever, Batman & Robin, A LEGO Batman Film to name some)

And my film the will probably be released this Summer is called: "How to Not Rob a Bank"

Re: The Name Clinic

I actually think "I am Knight/Night" would be better. Just an opinion.

I've actually thought about that, but it makes it seem a little bit too much like "The Dark Knight"
Another possible title was "Batty" but most people didn't like it because it sounded not as cool as I am the Night. I still rather like it though, as it expresses that it's batman, whilst describing the mental state of his adversaries quite nicely.

Re: The Name Clinic

Batty

LOL.

You'd best avoid that one, matey. mini/tongue

I think "I Am The Night" is an awesome name.

Jargon, you probably know this, but a famous speech that Batman made in one of the first episodes of the Animated Series was "I am vengeance, I am the night, I am.. BATMAN!"

It's a corny line, but works great for a title.

Re: The Name Clinic

I do know that, but I'm not sure why I was mentioned. It's a decent title, anyhow.

Re: The Name Clinic

Sorry, I keep mistaking Golden for you because his signature is similar to one you had. mini/tongue

Re: The Name Clinic

Yes, I rather like that title ANP, I think you should stick with it. It really brings the emotion of a gritty Batman movie.

Re: The Name Clinic

Also, I was thinking of making a huge LEGO fairytale project.
If I make it, It's probably going to be started in 2013 or so.
It's the story of a great hero Sir Beast the son of a troll and a fairy, with his Wizard friend Rofl. It's kind of filled with references to the internet, sites, and memes all throughout, some rather subtle, and some less so, such as trolls acting like internet trolls, and leaving spam where they go, a cat named lolcat, and a magical tome called the Book of Faces which connects all life.
But I need a title for this.
For now, I'm just referring to it as "The Ultimate LEGO Fairytale" since, basically, that's my aim. Possibly The Tale of Sir Beast.

What do you guys think?

Re: The Name Clinic

That sounds good! A suggestion: Call whatever land they are in Internetra.

Not literally dead, just no longer interested in Lego or animation.

Re: The Name Clinic

That's a little too un subtle. xD
I'm planning to call it the Kingdom of Awesome.
It's a pretty cheesy name, but it's the kind of thing you'd see on the internet. xD

Re: The Name Clinic

How about "internet" spelled backwards? Then it would be Tenretni. That's more subtle. The other name is kind of chessy, but it could fit it. Also, spelling words backwards is a good way to keep things subtle yet makes it easier to let the audience know what it's parodying. Try that on some of the things you're going to parody in your film.

Not literally dead, just no longer interested in Lego or animation.

Re: The Name Clinic

The main problems with those types of movies ANP is that they can either be horribly bad or hilarious. It really depends on if you can pull off the comedy.

It it was to go to DVD it could be called 'Bats' in Joker writing, a bit like "why so serious?"

another awesome one would be "Endless Night"

Maybe you should call yours that. mini/smile

Seriously, that's cool, and I never really liked Batman the Beginner too much. It's a bit too similar to Batman Begins.

Re: The Name Clinic

Batman the Beginner is MEANT to be similar to Batman Begins
yea, i might change the name...

Re: The Name Clinic

Planning a post Toy film. 70s slasher taking place in sleepaway camp, based off true story. Do you think a good title would be "Tent No. 8"

Re: The Name Clinic

Yes. I think that's actually a really good name.
Go for it mini/wink
