Topic: Advice

Salutations, fellow brickfilmers. This is JAUSTEN98 here, and this is a section for advice. I am a new brickfilmer and I was wondering if more experienced brickfilmers can give advice on such matters as cameras, free editing software (emphasis on FREE mini/wink ) and other matters such as lighting. I know that lots of advice is scattered throughout this forum, but just a favor to me and other rookies. Please post any useful info that you can give.

Thanks!

Re: Advice

I don't use free editing software, but I have some stuff for you that I would have liked to know when I started brickfilming.

Don't use natural light. Always use lamps or some sort of controlled light in a room blocked from the sun.

Use a short two second timer on your camera. This helps reduce flickering and shaking sometimes.

For animation, ease in and ease out your movements. As in make the beginning and end slower.

And practice a lot.

That's all I have right now.

Re: Advice

If you have a PC I would reccomend a Logitech Pro 9000. Great for HD pictures! If you have a mac I would probably suggest a Canon camera. Both the camera's are pricey but very great picture quality.

I'm working on getting my studio back up and running, so stay posted...

Re: Advice

QCP9K to capture frames using Monkeyjam.

Export into Lightworks which is an open source free editing software.
