I've been animating in a room with windows and I didn't take long to realize that it doesn't take much natural light to cause flicker. (even with two bright lamps that I had hoped would make it so a little bit of sunlight wouldn't effect it) So now I have to animate at night but that isn't a very good time for me so I was wondering if someone knew a good way to block light completely from windows so I could animate in the day again.
I close the blinds.
If you have some dark curtains, use them 
I have blinds on all of may windows. They have little cracks at the edges though letting in some light. But it doesn't really cause a problem since My lamps are so bright.
I suggest you instal some, or just get some dark blankets to cover it up.
I'm glad I got curtains cause otherwise I'd be doomed. And you're right you yourself when animating might not notice that the natural light is changing but once you put all the photos together a really nasty flicker can appear and basically ruin the whole work! (just a reminder for newbies I guess

I might have to try a blanket or curtain or something. I actually did have the blinds closed but I guess there was still just enough light coming in and i got flicker! 
I can't think of anything else that would cause the flicker.

Have you got the camera settings turned on manual?
of course! I tested it at night and everything seemed to work fine then so I'm pretty positive it has to be the windows causing the problem in the day
in some of my animations I got Flicker from my computer screen, normally a Pillow case is all thats needed to cover that in the shoots.
hmmm thats a possibility I suppose... but I'm pretty sure everything works fine at night... I'll do some more testing
I have a thick blue comforter I put over my window by tucking it into the curtain rod on top and letting it hang. It's rather heavy and will pull the rod down if given a chance so I nail/tack it down along the wood around the window. Make sure you tack it along the side of the wood (90 degrees to the wall) instead of the flat section that faces you. I block out most light this way.

thank you everyone for your help! I have now covered my windows with black trash bags and that seems to be working great!
i have curtains but using pins put a dark sheet over the window or put something up to block the light from hitting your set. hope this helps

Guys, he has solved the problem all ready.
I animate in my basement, and it has these little windows on all sides of it. Since they don't have blinds, i bought all these large sheets of black poster board and taped them in front of the window.
