Speaking as one of the Brickfilming Gods and one of the community leaders I have to agree with you there for two reasons, KG went to far and I've been reading I can get better work from employees if I compliment or agree with them sometimes. So I think you're absolutely right. Also have you lost weight!

Yes, KG was (and still is until tomorrow, haha) banned. Yes, he was rude in how he said what he wanted to say, but read over his post without the last sentence.

He's entirely correct. Still, since Juggs was already starting to get touchy about it, I figured, "hey, I'll lighten things up by making a joke and going gung-ho on disciplining KG", which in hindsight was taken way more seriously than I figured. I wasn't intending for Juggernaut to get upset, but to be honest I can't bring myself to feel guilty for it, even as much as I like Juggernaut.

I feel like I should say something to the whole site:

Look fellas, not everything is serious. If someone offends you on the internet, walk away. More often than not, the other person was being silly. I don't want anyone to feel like they are being singled out, or picked on. We've got a lot of people here who are looking at everything like it's a matter of life and death. It really isn't. This whole status-quo thing is getting to the level of being ridiculous. I do want everyone to be nicer to each other. IMO bringing up a "state of brickfilming" topic always spells trouble because it's asking opinions from people who don't actually have the grounds to form them. It's getting frustrating seeing this over and over, and I can tell that other members ('young' and 'old') are getting frustrated as well. We're lashing out at each other like it really matters, but it doesn't. Let's focus on making brickfilms for ourselves, and let the state of brickfilming be whatever it is. We really don't have to explain it.

There's nothing wrong with discussing what direction the development of the site could take, but there's no reason to be self righteous about it. This is the whole reason we closed the War Room; people taking opinions that differ from theirs as personal insults. Just let it slide. If you're a good member, make thoughtful posts, and aren't stone cold serious, people will recognize that and respect you, even if they don't agree with your ideas. It shouldn't matter to anyone how long you have been here, but even if it did, that's not your problem- it's theirs. It is true that the older members tend to hang out together, I won't deny that. But it's not a conspiracy to be mean to younger folks. We just happen to have similar viewpoints, in the same way a lot of the newer members like to socialize. We don't mean to pick on you, but as a whole, we don't take things anywhere near as seriously. We tend to get each-others' sense of humor, and forget that it's not as simple for people who haven't been around to realize it.

Once again I've written something long and disjointed, so I'll try to give you the short version. Be nice, don't take everything personally, and make brickfilms. The state of the site will work itself out, whether you like the way things are going right now, or you don't.

I like to think the moderators try their best not to play favorites, but sometimes we're human, and we can't resist the temptation to pull a fast one. I assumed the jest would be caught, and that was a bad idea on my part. But while my ban of KG was a joke, I do want to emphasize that it would be a positive change if people would phrase their complaints- no matter how accurate or obvious they may be, a little more nicely.
