Topic: lighting/pixel problem

Hey guys. I have a problem with my lighting. I have a long hall with the walls about 5 in. apart and I have a window on one end and the camera on the other end facing straight down the hall toward the window. I want the hall to be very dark while tons of light is coming through the window. The problem is that the rest of the room looks pixely(you can see the squares/pixels). I don't want to put more lamps to stop the pixels from showing up because I want the whole room to be dark except for the light coning through the windows. If I did that and turned down the brightness/exposure/gain, it also turns down the brightness to the light coming through the windows and you can see the lamp. Can you guys give me some suggestions on how to stop to the pixetely stuff from showing but not bring down the brightness from the windows?

Re: lighting/pixel problem

Pictures of your set-up and screenshots of what the camera sees would be incredibly helpful here. I'm trying to understand but I can't work out if you just want the light coming through one window or all of them. If it's just the one, then the answer is just to secretly block up the other windows with black bricks.

www.brickshelf.com

Image hosting specifically for... bricks.

If I'm on the forums, I'm probably waiting for Blender to finish rendering.
