Topic: A website

Hey BIM! Hopefully after or a little before i finish my upcoming film:''Jumperman'', I want to make myself a website...probably a Google site. What suggestions do you have for me to put on my website and what would you like to see?(besides my videos)

Re: A website

Maybe a guestbook, if Google allows that.
A link page would be nice too. mini/smile

Re: A website

People can write messages and ask questions. Kinda like a mini forum. mini/smile

Re: A website

I don't think you can have a mini-forum on Google Sites. A how-to's would be good to put on the site. Also, linking your site to BiM is a must (Sorry if that is what you meant Briks).

Re: A website

People can comment on pages, like a guestbook, on goog sites.
I would suggest embedding all of your best films on one page so they are all together for people to see them.

Re: A website

Just to say something else...I am getting a ''new'' laptop from my uncle. It's new to me because it was never mine(It was the computer I used to play all my lego video games on). Right now I have a 11 year old Toshiba which doesn't work with some programs I want to. Anyway this laptop I am getting is a better one that(hopefully) will be able to run the stuff i want to. Just an update(sorda) mini/tongue . Alright...back to the website topic/conversation.

Re: A website

It's a Compaq Hp laptop. 80 GB hardrive space(I think). 1 GB RAM(again, I think). Don't remember the model number.

Re: A website

I don't know whether you own just After Effects or the entire Production Premium suite (or intend to own; they are about equally expensive) - with the Production Premium there is/are (a) great tool(s) for creating a website included. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Otherwise: definitely your videos (obviously), some facts about you and when you took up brickfilming (optionally), an FAQ page, a guest book, ...

You should have a look at 0ldScratch's and ZachMG's websites, I think they are pretty good and a pleasure to the eye!

EDIT: Oh, and let's not forget pictures of yourself naked.

Re: A website

No...I'm not ''creating'' a site like one you would pay for...I'm going to make a free google site.

Re: A website

Tutorials, FAQ or a Q&A, a google site is a good idea. mini/smile

Re: A website

I'd say make a really good site using wordpress.com. It's complex but if you put your mind to it you can make an extremely pro site.

It is sort of based around blogging, but that can be good thing. You could release articles on behind the scenes and new film releases. You can have other pages of the site for other stuff other than the blog. FAQ, videos anything you like. Have a Twitter and Facebook feed that automatically updates. Pretty awesome stuff.

Check out this guy's site. Obviously you have to pay for the .com domain name and some customizations.
