Re: The Minecraft Thread!

Darkman, whats the IP to the server you lot play?

Re: The Minecraft Thread!

Can someone tell me what Nathan needs to do to get his server up 24/7? Because even if he put it up now, it would only be up probably 5 hours before he took it down. I want to support his effort to get it up full-time.

Re: The Minecraft Thread!

Give him money.

Re: The Minecraft Thread!

Watch his minecraft videos. And he keeps it up for quite some time. Usually ten or so hours.

Re: The Minecraft Thread!

I think Nathan might be setting up a PayPal account for his server as well, allowing for donations from it's users. I said I'd donate some money if he gave me a way, so this might be his reaction.

Good grief, the griefer situation caught on camera.

Re: The Minecraft Thread!

Note to self: Gotta visit this thread more than once a day.

First off, creepers are here to stay. I couldn't have said it any better than Mason's post.

Keep in mind the main city is meant to be creeper-free. That's why it's lit up like a Christmas tree. The best way to avoid creepers is to either wall yourself in and light up the area inside the compound, or establish yourself on an island and light it up.

Everyone who has requested to be on the whitelist: you will be added shortly.

As for progress on the 24/7 server: we're real close folks. During these first 12 days of June, I've made more money from YouTube ad revenue that the entire month of May. The best thing you can do is keep watching my videos and maybe OCCASIONALLY clicking on ads. Don't do it a lot, don't do it often, or YouTube and Google will freak out.

I want to build up enough money to fund Servercraft's basic package ($15 a month) for several months before I commit to a server. I plan to continue to release daily Pixelated Pickaxe episodes, and if I continue to earn money like I have during June, the server will be self-sustaining very quickly.

As for Paypal donations, I'm a little hesitant to implement it, because every time someone donates PayPal would charge me a small fee, and also get a percentage of the donation. So I would be forced to ask you guys to donate at least $10 so I could gain around $8 from the transaction. We'll see if there are alternate solutions, however.

Thanks for your input everyone! I'm sorry some of you have horrible lag to deal with, but I really think that will be resolved soon.

If you're willing to release your mailing address, we could send you money that way. mini/bigsmile

Kidding, of course.

Give the thing some time, you just started out on it. When I just started, it was terrible, I couldn't do a thing, world holes, you name it. But after a week or two of going on regularly it got a hell of a lot better.

Have some patience mini/wink

Re: The Minecraft Thread!

Okay. I tried again and made a pit hole safe from 90% of the game's organisms. Good going!
Edit, and I now have a safe and secure hideaway.

No offense, but seeing that you joined today and that this is your only post (not even in the introduce yourselves thread, we know nothing bout you) I'm assuming you came on BiM just to get on Nathan's Server...  mini/confused

And Nathan devoted this server to brickfilmers. Not Tolkein and Minecraft Fanatics.

it is true. i joined BiM just to join Nathan's Server. But wtch my chanel in youtube and you'll see i'm a brick filmer too. i entered youtube's world to share my lego movies, but i had some economic problems in my family and had to stop filming lego. i still make some animations but now i prefer just watching other videos, and one of my favourites are Nathan ones. i think he is gifted in stop.motion and when i saw he had a minecraft server i liked it very much. so Nathan if you are reading this please add me to the white-list. i would be a very active member of the server and helpful too.

If you had the supplies to brickfilm prior to the economic problems, why would you need to stop?
