BWJC: the error message you are getting isn't because of my server, it's because of an occasional hiccup in communication between your client and Minecraft.net. Just keep trying to log in and you will make it eventually.
All of you guys who aren't on darkman's server are missing out! It's a great community, and when you first join, they give you a starter pack consisting of a diamond pickaxe, diamond axe, diamond shovel, diamond sword, and 10 torches. 0 griefers. But, be warned, it is not a family-friendly place. Get ready for big-boy words, kids.
So, my position - the server I enjoyed playing on is closing down, Nathan's server is never up when I am (time zone differences), LegoDudez's server suffers from extreme griefing, and when I joined Darkman's server, I felt awfully like a third wheel - as in, the community was well-established, many buildings built, et cetera. I'm in a pickle to say the least. I'd go on the Minecraft Forums but I can't be bothered making an account - I had one, but since the site joined with another called 'CURSE' I've been unable to login. Ah well, I'll see what comes up... until then, Nathan, your bid for a 24/7 has my support.

On Nathan's server, I honestly feel like a parasite. I have been on it for two days and can't find any trees for a shelter, and when I found one in the snowy region, it growled at me (creeper? I know zombies don't spawn in trees.) If I knew what Nathan had to do to keep it up 24/7, I would do my best to help.
You know LB has a tree farm you can draw from and that there's forest nearby the town, right? If you want some help striking out into the unknown, just ask me. I'm getting tired of building a lighthouse. 
I could help you with the Lighthouse Unilego. The big problem for me is that I don't really know what I can and can't do concerning taking and leaving, and right now, I am roving around with a bunch of useless items I have managed to attract, and about 4 lives since I almost drowned. I wish Nathan would remove creepers from the server since they are the worst. (yes, you can do that.)
Minecraft without creepers is like life without people. There's nothing stupid to make you mad.
Wouldn't you enjoy it a little more if you could walk through your house without 3 or more green things looking through your windows waiting for you to get mad or just flat out explode in your face and try to kill you?

Okay, perhaps removing them completely is going a bit far, but I know you can mess with something so that they can't break block, and just hurt players.
Realbrick, Nathan made a Vanilla server on purpose. What you're complaining about is defeating the entire purpose of having a vanilla server. It was meant to be just minecraft: no modding or anything (except big brother) Which means keeping the spawn rate consistent to what minecraft would be normally. It's what makes the game fun for me (and anyone who actually likes the server and stays on it)
Whoa. Okay. Sorry to get you mad, I hate them after they ruined my first house and kept me from building my wood house. I do need to get some orientation of the server. And could someone help me? When I play on the server, this glitch keeps happening where a chunk of the world disappears and you can see through everything down to the bottom. I see the caverns and everything and can't move across the gap. I would think someone else had this issue besides me.
That's just when the map doesn't load. You can fix that by reconnecting.
