Building a house might be interesting, wouldn't involve a minfig much but would involve cranes and would rely a lot on smoothness.

mini/eek Getting overwhelmed with ideas. How about slipping? Tell me if you want it or not. I will definitely have an answer tomorrow.

Re: The Animation Challenge

Slipping could be fun...

Re: The Animation Challenge

Slipping has potential to be good, but I feel like most people would just kinda BS it, because although it could be good, it doesn't have to be very hard to animate. Better to pick a theme that requires that the animation be a challenge, IMO.

It would be an ANIMATION, but not really a CHALLENGE. I'm just saying that the quality of entries would most likely be rather low. But it's your call, FuntasticFilms.

EDIT: And to WelcomeToAwesomeness below this post, that would rely more on technique than actual animation.

A Vote system anyone? So the winner of the previous challenge picks three themes of his/her choice, and out of the selection of the three you vote for a theme. This way wouldn't it stop themes like this from happening?

Re: The Animation Challenge

Slow motion slip! mini/bigsmile Slow motion and slipping are both challenges!

Re: The Animation Challenge

Do you know how difficult slow-motion stop-motion is? You either take a million frames, or use expensive software like After Effects.

I say slipping is a great idea. It sounds like one of the original challenges. Also, let's keep the same voting system. Winner picks challenge and judges.

Re: The Animation Challenge

Maybe, we could have the option of slow motion, if the animator in question wanted to do it.

Or maybe slow motion is just something creative you can do to win!

Cooking/Baking

Fishing

Sword Fight

Sleep Walking

Re: The Animation Challenge

OK the next theme is...

Slipping

I would prefer a cartoonish slip. One where you run in place and THEN slip.

the deadline is June 8 12:00 am MST.

Get animating!

Multiple entries are allowed?

Re: The Animation Challenge

I don't know I would say yes. I don't see any rule that doesn't allow it.

Re: The Animation Challenge

I like the new theme, hate the fact that slow motion increases your chances of winning. People will just add slow motion in post production.
