Re: Café Corner
Is Clarinet someone special? Or did you just name your clarinet that? I'm sure she likes the fact that she has a name.
If I were to have named my clarinet, it would have been "Licorice".

Hello Guys, Do any of you use Wax 2.0. If so how do you position effects?
So... I need a quick tip- I have a second laptop ( a netbook really) with one gig of ram. I need a professional-level FREE video editing software for it so that I can do work on the go on a mini laptop (NOT JUST FOR LEGO ANIMATION). Should I go for:
WMM
Wax
ZweiStein (or whatever it is)
VirtualDub
Or what else?
I should be able to run on one gig of ram, and output .wmv files.

None of those are professional level. Lightworks on the other hand, is. I'm not sure if it'll work on 1GB of ram or not but you should try it out.

Basically, you add "Quick 3D" to your effect, and there will be several options. If you want to move it left or right, use "posx" and "posy". If you want to do more, just play around with them to get what you want.
@DerTarchin. I'd use WMM for easy editing, and Wax for more in depth VFX and stuff. That's just me.
...with one gig of ram... ...I need a professional-level FREE video editing software...
There's two major problems here.
First off, as far as I'm aware there's no professional-level free software. I mean, why would it be free if it were professional? And secondly I doubt you'll get any professional software to run on 1 Gig of RAM. I recently got Adobe After Effects CS5.5, which is top class, but I can't run it due to the fact it needs 4 or more gigs of RAM to be able to use.
If I were you I'd invest in something like Sony Vegas, it's noticeably cheaper then Final Cut and Premiere Pro and is quite good. That being said I haven't used it, but I'm sure it'll do what you need.
And then again if you do have a larger budget, I'd wait 'till the summer and get Final Cut Studio, when the new version is released.

From here forward, you will always be able to download and use the latest version of Lightworks for free... we invite you to get familiar with Lightworks, an Academy and Emmy award winning professional-grade editor with over 20 years of history in the film and broadcast industry. Having cut hundreds of films such as Pulp Fiction, The Departed, Centurion and Shutter Island...
Now, I may be jumping to conclusions here, but I think Lightworks might be a free, professional level editing program — I'M NOT SURE ABOUT THIS, so please don't sue me if you end up having to pay $1 trillion dollars for Lightworks. ![]()

Final Cut is mac only. The computer he just described isn't a mac. Plus being a mac only piece of software I doubt that it will:
output .wmv files.
Woah! A good editing program that's free?!
I'll be checking this out soon.
Wow, it is free. I too will have to try this out.
Anyways, after a 2 week hiatus from editing, Docotor of the LEGO should be out tomorrow. ![]()
Lightworks? Well blow me down, why haven't I heard of this yet? It seems I was sorely mistaken. Well, if it is free then I'd say that'd be a damn good option.

That doesn't sound right at all. AE7 only needed 1GB of memory, and AECS4 only needed 2GB, though both could feasibly run on even lower specs, and although they wouldn't have run very well, they still would have operated.
Edit: CS5.5 only needs 2GB of memory

I finally bought, for the first time, Two minifigures (one from series3, one from the 4). I got the Baseball player and the hockey player, both quite useful imo.
RIP, Randy Savage.
I have: the gnome (series four) the hobo fisherman (series three(what is it with my luck, Legos, and bearded dudes?) the punk rocker (epic, right? Series four) the baseball player (three)
I need the instructions for 7189 Mill Village Raid. Does anyone know where to find them? I looked on Service.Lego.com and Brickset.com, but neither have them. ![]()
I have 5 minifigures from Series 1, 5 from Series 2, 5 from Series 3, and 5 from Series 4. ![]()
