Topic: Is It Worth It?

So, after loads of hard thinking and decision making I have come to a conclusion on getting a new computer.  It will be build my my computer technician and can be make with in a week.

These are the specs...
1TB Hard Drive
4GB Memory
TB Video Card
64 bit
Windows 7 Professional
Quad-Core Processor.

And in total it is going to be $568.  Would you say this is fair game?

I'm not sure if you have already concluded your desision, but I think that you should build with your specs that you have now (That is, obviously if you have the money).

On an unrelated note; how did you get this much money in the first place? It seems like everyone on this site knows the secret for big bucks but me mini/tongue .

Well this is what my computer technition said:
CPU - Quad Core.  Possibly i5 or i7.
Motherboard - He said something about that but I didn't catch it.
Monitor res - Well 1920x1080

If you're buddy-buddy with your computer tech, then don't do this but, I would suggest you compare prices with these specs at some of the custom PC building sites out there (cyberpowerpc, pugetsystem, buydirectpc, etc.)

Re: Is It Worth It?

$568? All the computers I've ever built online came to over a thousand dollars...

Your computer might be a good deal, just remember to get a motherboard that will accept the processor. like, the  i7's use the 1156, 1155 and the 1136 sockets. So be sure you get the correct motherboard for the correct processor. Don't forget the power supply, either. Antec PSU and probably Antec case will work.

Re: Is It Worth It?

a quad core CPU could be anything. Ask for the FULL specs and post them here please. please note down the exact model of CPU, it will be helpful also.(ie not just i7 or i5, but i5 xxx or 2xxx)

Re: Is It Worth It?

You must have a really good computer technician friend because that computer seems to be a steal... I would differently do what Lechnology says and do some scouting for yourself.  That almost seems too good to be true.

Is a screen included? If not, your going to probably have to tack on another $100-$200
Whats the Video Card type?  Memory speed (ex. 800 Mz) and type (DDR, DDR2, DDR3)?

I've built my own computer in the past... if you'd want to do it for yourself, there's a "How to build a computer for Dummies" out there haha

Anyways, thats my 2 cents.  Best of luck on the computer building!

It may have been relevant, but not helpful since Binding Bricks has probably already made his decision. mini/wink

Re: Is It Worth It?

It might have been help to other people that were in need of advice, and they didn't want to make their own thread. I think we should let this rest now.
