Topic: Camera quality, what is the benchmark?

Alrightie guys,
just recently i bought a webcam from a discount variety store for $20. At 5.2 megapixel it was a bargain! All i wanna know is how it would stand up to the cameras that you guys use. So how does it compare?

And by the way, i hope to be gettin a job soon and it pays at $9.50 an hour, so feel free to tell me to start savin for somethin better! mini/smile

Re: Camera quality, what is the benchmark?

cameras aren't benchmarked in megapixels, also we can't compare the image quality unless you post an image.

Re: Camera quality, what is the benchmark?

Also, whether or not the camera has manual settings plays a big part in how well an image, and especially a sequence of images, will result.

Re: Camera quality, what is the benchmark?

I don't see the point in posting a single image just to see how it compares, but it's got manual focus, lighting (foreground and background), white balance, zoom, brightness, contrast, saturation, sharpness, gamma and anti-flicker.

It also comes with the ability to have effects (like crosshairs and stuff) and also some preset effects. one is a nightvision scope. very handy for a brickfilm!

Re: Camera quality, what is the benchmark?

so you have a $20 camera that has the features of the QCP9k mini/confused  yeah i think to compare we need to see a pic.

Re: Camera quality, what is the benchmark?

well, i dunno how to put a picture in a post, but just take a look at my profile picture, it was taken with the camera that i'm talkin about.

Re: Camera quality, what is the benchmark?

it's about 80px by 80 px, it's too small. upload images with imageshack.
