I play mine at 8 frames per second (which is really more like 16fps because I let the frames overlap and flow into each other better) in Windows Movie Maker. Yes, I know, not the best frame capturing software blah blah blah, but i like it. it works unlike monkeyjam - I have a phobia of stuff that I don't understand. 
I'm just curious really, what do you use and at what amount of frames per second? 
15 (although it ends up more like 14.5 with the software I use).

15fps is the most common framerate to use, if you want smooth animation.
Thirty FPS for cars, for some people.

My films have been 10 FPS, no quite the best, buy good enough that it doesn't look too bad. For my current film, I've brought it up to 15.
Rightio then, it seems 15fps is the most common. that's really good for me cause it means i'm pretty much up to scratch!
I don't put too much effort into the frame capture, so WMM is pretty good for me. I concentrate more on the storyline, i think i'm really very good at that, especially for an early teenager!

Anywho, you should use 15, it's a fine balance between smooth animation and not having to spend too much time animating.
Also, I used to use WMM, trust me, use a proper frame capturing software, they're not complicated at all.
I normally use 15fps, but I'd say you get a very good result also with 12 (sometimes I use it). Sometimes I use also 18 fps and 24(in some rare cases also 20). I use monkey Jam, and actually it's quite simple and easy to understand. You shuold try to use it once or twice at least.
Also, I used to use WMM.
I need to do a tutorial on it, but as surprising as this may be, I have animated a decent clip in WMM. You have to use the newest version, you can set all the frames to a certain rate, and it worked out well.
Well, actually coolasice11, some skilled animators use even 12fps. And it looks more proffessional than 24 at times. It's not really the framerate what counts.
I use 15 FPS, and sometimes 30FPS on doubles.
Usually 15 fps but I've used/experimented with 20 and 24 fps in the past and I could probably change my fps if I wanted to.
But I'm just so used to 15 it might be a while before I could adjust.
I think I might try 30 fps on doubles.
For me, it really depends. Mostly, I use 15 FPS. I'll use 12 FPS when I feel something needs to be a little bit slower, and I'll use 18 for when 15 feels too slow.

24 on twos is pretty much the same as 12 fps (with the ability to switch back to 24 on singles). Wallace & Gromit is filmed at that frame rate!
