Topic: Program
Okay, so on this computer I only have Movie Maker. On my other one, I only have movie maker for editing. Does anyone know a free movie editing program for Windows?

What's wrong with Windows Movie Maker? It works fine for video editing for me.
Compression? What is it and how does it reduce quality?
Compression is when you render the video. The compression makes the video a readable file. In many cases, since WMM only has a maximum of 8 fps, you usually have to render the video twice. Each time you render, the video compresses and loses a little quality. Monkey Jam has an option that says "Compressor: None" that's why I would use Monkey Jam.
You DO know MonkeyJam is only for animation, right, JP? crazylegofan is looking for an editing program.
Lightworks.
That's odd, I wonder how we edit in Monkey Jam then.
In all seriousness, we better explain how we edit using Monkey Jam/WMM in the Software and Hardware "Monkey Jam export problem???" thread.
What? That makes no sense. Editing is when you take all the shots you've animated and put them together with sounds, music, titles and effects. The only "editing" I'm aware of in MonkeyJam is switching frames around.
Check out the Free Software List in the Bim forums. You can download free software from the internet there.

Yeah, I checked the free software list. I now have programs.

You can add audio tracks to the frames while in monkey jam. What we do is we usually put all of the frames of one line (Like, from a voice actor) into MJ, and then add an audio track to it. Then we edit the frames to make it fit the length; and then we render it. This turns out to be a line, or for us, usually a shot from a scene. Is it very different than most people? Yes. Is it terrible, and do you get bad results? No. Although, the one hassle is adding all of the videos together; that is where normal editing comes in handy.
I do audio with Audacity, it's much simpler than some other things. I use gimp and a few other things for effects (I'm learning lightworks)
