Topic: Image quality lost on computer

Hey,

I remember posting a topic about my problem with the cable, but I do not think that is causing the problem.

When I take pictures without using any stopmotion programs and do it manually, the quality is amazing! However when I use it in a stopmotion program I get this:

First off, what camera do you use and what program do you use?

This might sound a little stupid, but did you check the output quality in your stop-motion program?

Also, you might also want to change your image format to PNG.

I have this same problem, I use 1080i HD settings for my camera's output, its a DSLR camera, so then when I import it into my program animatorDV simple, I lose so much of the quality. I don;t know of any free programs that export HD settings

Okay, I started using the monkeyjam instead of Hellium Frog, because HF did not except my Sony HDR-CX115E.

I have a firewall and everything.

Any help?

OK. It's either the quality on the camera, your image size, or something with MonkeyJam. Try to animate a few steps and let me see the result.

It's still not all that clear what you're doing.

Modern cameras are often two cameras in one. When you use a stop motion application, it usually takes the camera's direct feed. This is typically used to feed an image to the little screen on the back of the camera, so it doesn't need to be very high quality. When you take individual photos with the camera, it goes through the camera's proper sensor and you get a multi-megapixel still image.

I see what you mean OldScratch, I am not upto SCRATCH on this sort of stuff.

Well, on your unlisted video, it was a wmv. file. Maybe you could try to upload the original avi. which MonkeyJam creates...

EddieHassle: The camera quality, is great and stunning when it is not put into a stopmotion software...

RobBrick: I exported it as individual frames and then youtube HD, so I could get the best quality. That is as good as it gets.
