Re: LEGO Collectable Minifigures Discussion Thread

I use a combo of the feel method and dot method, For the feel method, you have to feel the bags really well (Hint: Look on the box for what the parts look like). The Artist is identifiable by the pallate: it's flat with a stick coming out the bottom. For the dot method, download it from Brickset.com. Look on the bottom of the back of the packet. The dots are right along there. Move the packet back and forth to see the dots, they are slight indentations in the plastic. If the dots are screwy, double-check with the feel method.

Re: LEGO Collectable Minifigures Discussion Thread

Whoo! I successfully identified the Artist and bought it for my ToY entry. Thanks, guys! I also got the alien dude from series 3 by picking up a random package...

Re: LEGO Collectable Minifigures Discussion Thread

I got a monster.
Anybody else slightly annoyed about the goofy looking band-aid on his head?

Cool signatures have no pictures.

Re: LEGO Collectable Minifigures Discussion Thread

So I ordered 5 figures from shop online a few days ago and got them in the mail today.

I am going to KILL the moron who came up with this system!

Spoiler (click to read)

Just kidding, I went to Target a few days ago and found them in the Barbie isle. (What idiot determined that?) I made sure based on the dot code that they were all different and got four, Frankenstein, Artist, Skater, and Musketeer. That image was done in the GIMP by taking multiple pictures of the same minifigure and blending them together. I did find the band aid annoying.

Re: LEGO Collectable Minifigures Discussion Thread

Has anyone got a link to the dot method? I really want some of these, but I don't want to end up with loads of doubles. I checked on bricklink and can't find anything. mini/confused

Re: LEGO Collectable Minifigures Discussion Thread

I found them on the aisle with Barbies and Dora in my Fred Meyer! Then again, they were on the side of the aisle dedicated to LEGO. mini/tongue

Re: LEGO Collectable Minifigures Discussion Thread

I just noticed something while looking at my Ice Skater minifig last night. I was thinking about the CG image of the minifig I saw on Brickset. Then I realized, my minifig didn't have the skirt! I completly forgot that it had a skirt when I opened the bag. That means I threw it out with the bag! Well, my mom's going to call Lego and see if they could give us a replacement skirt. If not, I'll get it off Bricklink.

I used that to successfully identify the Artist, Viking, Musketeer, and Hazmat guy. But I would recommend checking with the feel method just to be sure.

Re: LEGO Collectable Minifigures Discussion Thread

Cheers! I'll print them off later. mini/bigsmile

Re: LEGO Collectable Minifigures Discussion Thread

damn it, here in Brazil the packages don't have identifying codes, i have to spend half hour to feel which minifig is inside each package, well at least it hasn't failed me so far lol

Re: LEGO Collectable Minifigures Discussion Thread

Hi-res photos of Series 5! http://legoasia.blogspot.com/2011/05/le … tures.html
The ones I want are the new Clown, the zookeeper, the snowboarder, the gangster, and either the lumberjack or the grenadier guard.

Re: LEGO Collectable Minifigures Discussion Thread

More series 5 pics

I hate all of them.  Mainly because half of them are repeats (we now have a "male" snow boarder, oooooo....).

Re: LEGO Collectable Minifigures Discussion Thread

I like all of them. mini/tongue
I don't get the furor over variants, either. Who wants a mountain full of identical snowboarder clones?

Re: LEGO Collectable Minifigures Discussion Thread

I'm not really very keen on them. The guard looks cool, as does the eskimo, but they're the only ones I really like.

Re: LEGO Collectable Minifigures Discussion Thread

Hmm.

The only one's I'm interested in are the clown and the mafia guy.

Both because of their torsos.

Re: LEGO Collectable Minifigures Discussion Thread

No one sees the potential for an awesome Godzilla film then? Weird.
