Re: The Video Game Discussion Topic!

Not really, you'd understand it a bit more, but seriously? The original portal is only 7 bucks. Also, if you buy from Steam, there is no sales tax. Just a little fyi.

That's what I was thinking of doing too, but then I realized it's only 10 bucks and I should really play the first before the second.

Re: The Video Game Discussion Topic!

If this is relevant, PSN is down. I think it is so freaking dumb that a few 19 year old hackers can hack in to a multi-billion dollar company. Sony have done hardly anything to bring it back up, and I personally reckon it will be at least another 2 days until it's sorted. Just wanted to mention it haha, because it means I can't play any of my games online.

Re: The Video Game Discussion Topic!

Yeah, looked over the system requirements and found out my processor is outdated. It really sucks that we could play the game on EVERY computer in our house but mine.

After writing a considerably longer message than this then accidentally hitting 'Refresh', I'm simply going to say this: be thankful the '19 year old hackers' in Anonymous aren't hacking bank accounts - it's been done before.

Here's a quote:

"Operation Sony
Anonymous announced their intent to attack Sony websites in response to Sony's lawsuit against George Hotz and, specifically due to Sony's gaining access to the IP addresses of all the people who visited George Hortz' blog as part of the libel action, terming it an 'offensive against free speech and internet freedom'. Although Anonymous admitted responsibility to subsequent attacks on the Sony websites, much speculation has arisen concerning a sustained collapse of the Playstation Network in April. Anonymous has denied that their attacks are the cause of its malfunction, suggesting that Sony is using Operation Sony as a smokescreen for the company's incompetency.
According to Sony, the initial cause of the PSN and the company’s Qriocity service was due to an "external intrusion", and that it was subsequently kept off-line in order to facilitate an infrastructure upgrade as an apparent consequence of this attack."

Why would a murderer admit to the crime? (Well, some psychotic ones would, before jumping off a building, but that's not the point.) Although Anonymous usually do these grand things 'for teh lulz' and make them high-profile, it's a group, thus made up of many people. All these people have different ways of doing things - this may be a silent protest. I'm perfectly open-minded though. The only thing I know for sure is, I'll be getting Xbox Live soon, so this doesn't trouble me. mini/XD

Re: The Video Game Discussion Topic!

I know I asked this a couple of pages ago, but how can I get Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars for Windows for cheaper than $30? I was thinking of getting it at the Lego store nearest us, using a $5 off $35 or more (I will spend more than $35) then another $5 off using VIP dollars. Is there another better way or cheaper way?

Also, UniLego, what is your avatar pic and your sig from?

And my signature and avatar both come from the Portal 2 comic, which is another awesome game you should get by the way.

Listen to me, it wasn't Anonymous, last time they hacked it, they were proud of it and shouted it out to the world. Why wouldn't they do the same again? Because they didn't do it. I suggest you read this post to find out more (if you wish) : http://uk.gamespot.com/news/6310200.html
P.S, Sorry this post has come across so blunt, it isn't intended in that way at all.

I don't mind bluntness, rather that than idle banter. Anonymous may not look like the culprits behind the hacking, but as you said yourself, they can hack. Who's to say they didn't create this 'Rebug'? They often send viruses to people (their favourites are MySpace users - I have no idea why).

EDIT: Oh also, if 'Genzarata' has not yet been used, in about 1 month's time (or less) you may see that title running around Halo: Reach and Black Ops' Zombies on Xbox Live. mini/bigsmile I finally have an Ethernet cable!

Re: The Video Game Discussion Topic!

I have no idea what's wrong with the PSN, but I'm not happy about it in the slightest. I picked up Portal 2 today for the ps3, plonked it in my machine to link my psn and steam account so I could play it on my PC where upon I was greeted with a failed to connect message. I only just found out that the PSN's been down for the last week, which is kind of odd since last year when it went down for like a day in March, everyone flipped out because they couldn't play cod.

You need an Ethernet cable to use Xbox Live? Darn. Well, I'll see you on Live (Whenever my parents allow me to buy Halo and Black Ops).

I used to use an Ethernet cable to connect to XBL. Annoying times. Hated having to move my computer so close to the Xbox.

And Call of Duty.

I'm going to use a 30 metre long cable, and we already have several http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sML09Q0oDYE where other cables pass through for the aerial and such. Hopefully it won't be too tough. Oh, and I won't always be on Reach and Call of Duty. I shall wander around Minecraft too, as well as Split/Second maybe. My selection of online games isn't fantastic, but for good reason - after all, there's no point when you can't even go online.

Oh come on, Black Ops isn't fantastic (the servers are horrendous, the graphics... meh) but the game itself is enjoyable enough. The new map pack doesn't do it for me though, and Ascension still looks a bit like a waste of money.
