Topic: Shaky-cam Effect in Sony Vegas?

Hey. So I would really love to know if making a shaky-cam effect is possible in Sony Vegas Pro 9. It's an awesome effect to make a video look like it was shot by hand with a cam-corder, for those of you who don't know. I have tried to do the move the camera a little each frame technique and it never looks realistic, just like I didn't use a tripod mini/tongue
Any help?

Thanks in advance,
Jessie

I too use Sony Vegas pro 9, and although I have not used t in any of my films, I have practiced the shaky-cam effect. The best way is to use the zoom/pan tool, and just crop the pictures little by little, moving the camera in the desired pattern.

Or, you could download the free trial of / buy an extra effects add-on called NewBlueFX There is an effect called "Active Camera" that works very well. I think you have a limited time before a watermark appears though.

Hm... watermarks suck. Your idea, PoisonFilmsENT, sounds a little tedious. How does it work with you? mini/confused

I did a shaky-cam effect test in Axogon Composer once, but it turned out too fast. I haven't tried it in Sony Vegas, but if I were to do it, I would use the pan/crop tool to crop the image and create keyframes with it in different positions. But I use Sony Vegas 10, so your version might work differently.

The panning and zooming tool seems ok to use.

Hm.. I'll give that a try and post it as a test. I hope it works! mini/smile

Well as stated above, you key frame the movements, and I would say to hold the movements for about 2-3 frames, depending on how fast you want the shake to go.
