I just got a new computer and I want a good video editing program I can use for it. Any suggestions?
I use Sony Vegas, it's not free though.
I suggest an Adobe product.:D 
I have Vista and I used Adobe Premiere, but unfortunately it doesn't work proper on Vista. It has a lot of errors, I heard the same for Sony Vegas.
Adobe Premiere Elements 9 is spectacular, although it crashes on 3 gb of RAM which I think is crazy.
Would it be a better investment to buy Vegas or buy the cheaper Adobe Premiere?

Adobe Premiere 2.0 is what I had on my old computer, but it doesn't work well on Vista.

Nothing works well on vista (because it sucks) but when I used vista before switching to Windows 7 I used Sony Vegas and I loved it.

That means you should upgrade to a better/newer AP (Of course, this all depends on if you have the money). If you can, I'd strive to get any Adobe product first. The reason why? Their the closest to what the proffesionals use in terms of effects/composoting/editing. If you can't get Premiere (I'm talking about CS4 or CS5), then go get Vegas (The most exspensive one is around $600).
