Topic: Is After Effects worth the price?

I am thinking of MAYBE (not TOO likely, but just in case I'm asking anyway) getting After Effects CS5 or After Effects CS5.5. Would you reccomend it, and if so, which one is better? If I get an answer soon, I can get After Effects CS5.5 Production Premium Student & Teacher Edition for $449.99, which is $1,249.01 ( mini/tongue ) off the original price. Is this a good price?

Re: Is After Effects worth the price?

Yes, I myself am actually getting this package. The price advantage removes any doubt I had, and if you have the money, I'd recommend this deal.

Personally, I'd get this:

Same price, but you get a bunch of other great software.

Re: Is After Effects worth the price?

I have Production Premium CS5 and highly recommend it (the student edition). However CS5.5 comes out soon, but it's a really good piece of software. However with a student license you cannot upgrade.

Yes a thousand times. Please have a look at the topic "Action Essentials 2 or After Effects?" by legostothemax, I've written a pretty long text there basically stating how awesome After Effects is. You might want to check by. Because it's just sooooooo.... okay uhh, let's try not to be carried away with enthusiasm again this time. But AE is seriously worth the price.

Is that only with a student license, or is it teacher and student licences? Because my mom got it for me using her teacher license, and all that jazz.

Re: Is After Effects worth the price?

I would recommend CS5.5 if you an get it for a good price. If you can get CS5 for a really cheap price though, it would probably wiser to get the cheaper version. CS5.5 doesn't have a ton more features than CS5.

Why CS5.5? There's CS5 and CS6 (which is going to be released soon). Never heard of CS5.5.

Re: Is After Effects worth the price?

Oh...I didn't know about CS6. Adobe.com is talking about CS5.5 now.

Re: Is After Effects worth the price?

Probably I was wrong. But why waiting for CS5.5, I think this one's already out?

Re: Is After Effects worth the price?

Yup, came out today. I've pre-order it, the Production Premium package, so it should be arriving soon. mini/bigsmile
