Topic: Shaky cam help?

I have no idea how to achieve this, I have attempted it it before in the past, and even though it seems I was moving the camera ever so slightly, it turns out there was a 9.5 mega-quake on the set:lol: I just want to have have a slight shakey cam effect, such as teh one used in FancyPants "the game" or ZackMG's " The Profession" Please help.

Re: Shaky cam help?

I don't know about The Profession, I but I know for a fact that the shakycam in MindGame's Social Experiment was done in Adobe After Effects (the zooms were added there too, but the focus was done in-camera). Doing something like that as you're filming is nigh-on impossible...

Re: Shaky cam help?

Fancypants is great at camera movements during the production stage.  If you have a webcam however you probably want to use keyframing in Post Production.

Re: Shaky cam help?

I use a nikon coolpix, so i might be able to try it and practice more during production.

Re: Shaky cam help?

if you're doing it in post-production, the biggest thing to keep in mind is to not only adjust the position of the frame, but also adjust the rotation.  it really helps to sell the effect.

Re: Shaky cam help?

Shaky cam can be achieved without any expensive software (but I highly recommend it). It takes a LOT of time and effort to do it without the software though. You can achieve it by doing this: first make a pattern for how you want to make your camera move, like a figure 8 for example and then little by little move the camera in that pattern.

I'm working on getting my studio back up and running, so stay posted...
