I had this exact same problem, but I saw a video that explained it really well. Sorry, but I can't find the link to that or else I would just post it and shut up but... First, you download the .dmg file, and then when it has that installation package icon thingy, instead of clicking on it to install it, you control-click and then "Show Package Contents." Theoretically the iMovie HD icon is in there and you drag it into your applications folder to install it (assuming that I remembered correctly).
If this doesn't work, then what version of Mac OS X are you using? And what version of iMovie are you using right now? I somehow managed to get iMovie HD 6 without uninstalling iMovie '09, which is something that you want to do. They both are very useful and can do a variety of different things, so I would suggest using either one depending on the project you are working on...
Remember, Google is your friend! ![]()
What Type of Mac are you running on?
If you could find that vid that would be great!
I will look for it... I remember it was a Youtube video, but I did not find it by directly searching on Youtube, but I googled it and a blog linked me to the video... Did the right-click-show-package-contents thing work?
No, you can just get the .dmg file from any media sharing site or whatever, but try and find a reliable one, because there are viruses waiting to suck your brains out.
"Oh no, doctor! I'm afraid my computer's got the black plague!" ![]()
If you go into finder and go to the imovie 09 application, right next to that it says "iMovie previous version"...... And then double click that......
