Topic: MonkeyJam Choppy Export

In MonkeyJam when I try to export an avi file it comes out really choppy. I have it set at 15 fps and it comes out slow and choppy. Is there another program that can export avi files and capture frames or should I do something to MonkeyJam to fix it? What should I do?

Re: MonkeyJam Choppy Export

Yes, but I think that's because of your animation itself.

Re: MonkeyJam Choppy Export

That's weird. Some parts are slow, some parts are normal speed, and some parts are fast. I saw the other version of that video, so I compared it to that. Some examples:  the run cycle came slow, the drinking came out normal, and the sneaking came out fast. Some parts were so fast that it only lasted half a second.

Re: MonkeyJam Choppy Export

No it's not my animation. I mean it. I've put these frames in my editing program before and they come out fine but this doesn't seem to be working.

Yeah, that's good advice.

And it does seem to be playing at 15fps, it just looks rather poorly animated.

Re: MonkeyJam Choppy Export

He said he was sure it was his software. I saw a well-animated version of the video that he linked here. He posted it in WIPs and Tests, but he removed it. It looks to me that when he exports it directly out of MonkeyJam, something messes with the framerate.

Re: MonkeyJam Choppy Export

Is the capture frames set at 2 instead of 1?
That could be your problem.

Re: MonkeyJam Choppy Export

Hm, I have heard a lot of animators seem to export in the capture program. I personally thought that editing the actual frames was easier afterwards.

In terms of your problem, I agree with VIMStudios above ^

I'm not trying to sound too proud guys but this really is a problem with the program. It's already pretty fragile on my computer. Any things i should do?

Re: MonkeyJam Choppy Export

If it's the program, then switch to Helium Frog or another program.

Re: MonkeyJam Choppy Export

Of course. They would be a bit useless if they didn't.
