Re: Café Corner

I'm currently working on the itinerary for my trip to London (April 24th-April 28th) and I'd love to add a brickfilmer meetup to the list...

Anyone want to join?

Truth be told that its not only on your head to click the proper links, but Cafe Corner is a small fraction of the brickfilming paraphernalia on this site. Remember that the BiM community would fall under the "PG-13" rating. Its open to anyone, but discretion is advised where it may be necessary.

First one to post on this thread today! That's funny, usually there are a lot of posts here every day.

Today I saw a truck with ACME on its cab door. I don't know if it specializes in a certian area (unlike the fictional ACME) or not, I wasn't close enough to read the smaller writing under it. Well, at least we know a real company is named ACME!

I finally finished my bunny for my EASTER theme! It's huge! I can't wait to film with it.

Meh - ForrestFire is lazy IMO. His animations are pretty good, but he skimps out at the hard stuff like fight scenes. I wouldn't mind as much but he's so damn popular - most people associate brickfilming with him! Plus his content is... blech. Still, maybe that's because I'm a little sensitive, don't know what other people think.

I agree completely. You can tell he uses still images more than actual animation (If you look closely, the video noise doesn't move any time there's no in-shot animation) and he needs to come up with stories that don't have adult content. His popularity disgusts me. So does the way people associate him with Brickfilming. Although he is improving. Some of his non-sexual-themed jokes are getting to be actually funny. But he still has a loooooooong way to go, believe me. Is he on this site, BTW?

Re: Café Corner

I love the people who complain about ff101 because everyone who does is jealous.  You can it deny it all you want but you want his fame. I dontl ike his stuff but I dont care enough to complain about him.

Re: Café Corner

I couldn't care less about Forrest, he can make his videos however he wants, even if they deeply disturbed. It's his audience that I find horrible. He attracts mostly 10 year olds, and with his humor, I find that almost unbearable. But what really gets me unhappy is that while 80% of his fans like his animation, some people envy it, like this kid. I have heard however, that he plans to leave brickfilming because he doesn't think it will get him anywhere. I just have a feeling he will want to take a few of those videos back when he is a working adult and his employer finds them.

Re: Café Corner

I hate FF101's videos, so much that I am not willing to take the time to type out his actual username. mini/tongue
But seriously, his animation is terrible, he is a lazy set builder, and he cusses WAY too much. This brings me to another (off-topic) point:

How come the most viewed videos on Youtube are just trash, wastes of time, just stupid videos that probably took no time at all to make; while all of our brickfilms from this site and others are way underappreciated and get like 100 views when stupid accidental videos recorded on someone's iPhone get millions? Take this for example: this video, a work of art, gets only about 7000 views and then stupid things like all those epic fails lolcats and stuff get quadrillions! ARGH! http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p84/UberSocks/69.gif
Is the internet like opposed to hard work and stuff? What is wrong with people?

(I've gotta admit, the trololololo song is pretty funny though)

A lot of people want to watch videos that make them laugh. A lot of brickfilms don't make them laugh. The amount of work that went into it is irrelevant.

Re: Café Corner

NXT is right.  Many people surfing YouTube want to be entertained.  Most don't care if it's a crappy video that makes them laugh, just so long as they enjoyed it.

Re: Café Corner

Off to go get my next martial arts belt. I hope I pass. I have always thought of making a kung fu brickfilm. That would be pretty sweet.

Re: Café Corner

I'm not exactly a FF101 fan, but he's a lot better then many people on this site. And his animation in his new videos doesn't suck at all.
EDIT: And saying pipi is not disturbing.

I hate competetive sports. I only run cross-country and tack because I need to stay in shape. But still that thing your doing, I hear that takes a lot of commitment. Good job. mini/smile

I'd rather make original, innovative (well, I try to) and funny Brickfilms that receive minimal attention than be a jerk who basically makes the same unoriginal, unfunny, and uninspired movie over and over and over and over and over and over....

I respect the guy for getting all the viewer ship and attention. Yes, I'm sure everyone wants all that too - but jealously of FF isn't the reason why people want more views and subscribers.

I hate to sound like a n00b but that requires making video of the animation and editing the video right?

True dat, true dat. I have been looking back at some of my posts over the recent months, and I have made many "thoughtless" posts, such as the one about links. I apologize for somewhat trolling and just not helping to the topic of the thread. Also, I won't have to worry about links to YT, because my dad temporarily blocked YT for the time being.

Just pick a song you like and make a music video of it, it's that simple. If you want my opinion, I was thinking "Cheeseburger in Paradise" might make a good film.

Funny how the only typo you made in that post was on the word "typo"!
