Hey, I've been away for months. My latest addiction is Minecraft. This is the first thread I see. 
Found a natural collision of Lava and Water deep in a cave.
But no Obsidian anywhere nearby 
Also, my new desktop. Took this snapshot right as I was about to log off.
Its my testing map. I use INVedit to give myself Redstone and other supplies. Then I build whatever I want as a proof of concept. If I like it, I implement it in SMP or SSP.
Right now I'm working on an automated Minecart train system to drop me from my lava lake (natural) to my RS Sandbox. It worked fine, but the Peaceful Mobs kept jumping in the booster carts and messing it up. I also attempted to put a Pressure Plate at the cart depot and wire it up to note blocks at various locations (to signal that the next train is ready to be released) but the cart just stops on the pressure plate
Notch needs to implement a Rail/Pressure Plate combo.

Um, I can see Obsidian right there.
On second examination, I see it too. I haven't been in that cave in a while, and my eyes are bad.
I tried to log on to Timothy Ratner's server but my connection is refused.

It's probably not up right now.
It's not up. I usually only put the server up when the regular Minecraft peeps are on the BiM chat. So if you don't visit the chat frequently, you're most likely not gonna know when the server is up.

I want to give multiplayer a go sometime this week.
My house on my favorite SSP Map.
Floor 1: Kitchen/Furnace Room/Workshop: Workbench and Furnaces. Also has a living room (to be furnished). Has a nice sunny exit in the back, made of glass, which extends out. The floor has a glass strip which displays a stream.
Floor 2: Bedroom/Bathroom: Has a bathtub and my bedroom. The bedroom is missing a glass window as it leads to the balcony.
Floor 3: Attic: Has chests, a workbench, and a furnace. Also, my incinerator for unwanted blocks.
Tower: Has Lavalamp to light so I can watch at night too. One side has a lava beacon facing my spawn, so I can find my house. Also has emergency bell via Noteblocks (made it just to fool around with RS).
Not in picture: Spiral Staircase to Dock, Oasis + Water Source, Wheat Farm, Cobble Generator, Wood Supply Forest.
Also, I found this on the beach over the hill. Its completely natural.
Is this a sign?
