Re: Libyan crisis

I'm glad that someone is willing to deal with the gravity of the geopolitical turmoil going on right now.

Id be more willing to do political commentary and what not but then I remember that were animating with lego here. I just feel that using a childrens toy to promote or bash political agendas and other world events isnt the best idea.

Re: Libyan crisis

May I redirect you to this to get yourself over your doubts.

Re: Libyan crisis

ha funny but i think you don't really understand mcoov or Stoppedmotion the main idea is to be a laugh. mini/lol so
really thats not what i want i would like the community to give comments on how to en prove the script ok if you don't like it is fine to say it. but this is not only about Gaddfi i may be making one about how NATO took so long to create a no fly zone. just remember this is a joke about politics a am remaining neutral!

Re: Libyan crisis

As much as I'd like to sarcastically troll about this, like Jargon and the others are doing, I'm just going to say this as plainly as possible. This issue which you're spoofing is the same issue that has cost many people their lives, and their way of life. So you think it's OK for you to joke about this? I was hoping upon seeing the title you might be making a more serious film concerning the crisis, but obviously I was very much mistaken. So here's my word of advise - forget the whole thing. Thanks.

I'll be back animating soon! Exams and computer faults are keeping me away </3

Re: Libyan crisis

IMO people are allowed to joke about anything they want, but I don't think this is very funny. Not because it's about a sensitive subject matter or anything, it just didn't really make me laugh.

Re: Libyan crisis

You are trying to make people laugh at the Libyan Crisis?
Try making something people will like.

Re: Libyan crisis

Yeah bud I don't think it's really funny. You should make fun out of everyday life situations people do find that funny.

Sarcasm ≠ trolling. Nine times of ten when I'm sarcastic, I'm trying to make a point. Allow me to spell out the point I was making in the previous post.
The geopolitical turmoil in the Middle East is one of great import, or gravity. In my opinion, such subject matter does not really lend itself to comedy, at least not of the lowbrow variety detailed here.

Re: Libyan crisis

Let me get this straight you are trying to make a joke about a crisis where peoples families are dying and you think people will find it funny mini/rolleyes . What you should be trying to do is educate people on what is happening in Libya instead of making jokes about it and also you should be trying to make ignorant people more aware of their surroundings. You dont even need to get political just try to get it more on the educational side like having some protesters walking around then people with guns try to shoot them ( by the way that is just an example).

Re: Libyan crisis

it is a joke on how Gaddfi is negligent about his people loving him. were as from what i have seen they don't love him thats why their is a rebellion. and i was thinking of making a documented movie on it to educate but this is a little bit off yet

Re: Libyan crisis

I think it's a LEGO movie, and the director is allowed to be as politically correct (or incorrect) as he wants to be.

As for how much I like the idea: I would probably find the film mildly amusing, but more due to the random irreverence than the conscious attempt at humor. It will no doubt get people riled up, so if you do go through with the idea, expect angry comments.  It's your film though; if you think the idea is funny, go for it.
